Excellent win.

Too many guys to say good to really.

Liked Curtins game a lot, showed plenty & why we just have to keep backing him in. Defensively he was great & worked really hard.

Thought Keane was frustrating, I'm inclined to return to Butts, just more reliable even if not as attacking. Peatling also had a bit of a meh day.

It worked out well and nice to be able to rest Rankine. I look forward to seeing him play a full game. Kangaroos might be the one, but who makes way for him? Can’t be Crouch, Soligo, Dawson or Rankine. Could sub Keays who is almost the best sub because he’s so versatile! Great dilemma to have! Then there’s Pedlar and Berry looking on too!

Not too concerned by our defence TBH; but they'd want to tighten up a bit against the best.

Peatling had a bit of a dirty day, was fumbly but he'll get there. Cumming had an off day too, didn't do a whole lot wrong, he just didn't do much. Looks like he's lacking confidence.

Essendon were as solid as melted butter, but it's nice to see some brilliant foot skills on show, we will carve up better sides this year.

To be able to take Rankine off in the 3rd quarter uninjured is a luxury I wasn't sure I'd ever see.

Mid:

• Keane - I guess we take his free kick giving aways, random turnovers, falling over for a goal, etc because of the intercepting and agressive movement. Still, would be better if he didn't do that stuff.
• They scored 100 points... we were quite random in applying tons of pressure on the ball... and then not. lots of scoring from them with our foot off the pedal.
• Peatling and Cumming with not many touches. Not a problem really.
• Not sure on the stats, but felt like we lost most of the center clearances, which were turned over by our defence immediately.

Ugly:

• Draper's (theirs) haircut
• Couldn't, or didn't attempt to stop Merrett
• Would have been a 15 goal win without the home ground advantage. God damn every chance for a 50/50 to go to Essendon happened.

Where do we think Peatlings at? Hasn’t had a standout start to the year, hasn’t been bad either, just sort of been doing his role. But we gave up a second rounder to get him in. Would we be losing anything by playing a Nankervis, Taylor, Dowling instead?
