He’s not. The other players have shown to play better when given opportunity. Poulter averaged 15 disposals and 5 marks last year as a first year player.
WHE has more time with the ball and uses it better in the AFL than Poulter in the VFL, where he's regularly rushed.

Admittedly I called for WHE out this week for the first Tim, as I think is ball use has dropped off a bit. But that's because I'd like to see Reef.

It's about time this that Moore is given the responsibility of curbing an opponent rather than playing a loose, intercept role. He is not having a good year, and needs to show the club and supporters that he is worth the money that he has just gained through a lucrative contract. Hopefully he gets the job on Lynch and is directly held responsible for the Richmond man's output on Saturday. Both he and Grundy have been touted as the main candidates for future captaincy and neither player is exhibiting the kind of qualities expected of a captain. He needs to lift.
Could not agree more! I think Darcy's form has really escaped scrutiny this year, both here and in the MSM.

Player benchmarking : 60.
67% is below average.

His actual stats:
14 disposals, 5 marks, 1.5 tackles, .5 goals per game.

He’s in the same vein as JT from last year.

Further to that point here is Poulters games this year

The only argument for WHE is the lazy one of incumbency. The future is putting games into talented kids that are performing in the VFL

Adams is probably 1st in the queue for captaincy though.

Is it wrong? When you consider the state of our club?

Mate, Josh Kennedy for the Swans has been the sub numerous times this year. Let’s try and get out of this mindset and let’s actually move the club forward.

Nope, these are the same coaches that bring in a Brown Brother each week.

Excuse if I opt for the coaches rather than some irrational poster on BF.

Cool, now we've got some sort of architecture to work within.

Point me to the "seriously below average" aspects please and thank you.

If you can't tell the difference between between what WHE is doing right now and what Poulter was doing in that bad team last year I'm not sure what to say.

I’ve checked Poulter’s stats for this year at senior level and he’s averaging donuts for every category.

Moore’s strength is intercept marking - turning him into any semblance of a Presti lockdown defender is a waste of his natural talent.
And having Roughy missing also has impacted Moore.

But if you want to play a Buckley ultra defensive game plan, then I guarantee Moore and all of our other defenders would look better.

Poulter last year:
15 disposals
5 marks
2 tackles

WHE is only elite / average on disposals. The basis stats. The meters gained & i50, he is below average.

WHE - 199 meters gained this year.
Poulter - 280 meters gained last year.

There is no Tweet
Or words to say this
But Jack Madgen is out.
No more winces
No more speculation
The man
The myth
The legend
Has been dropped
The most loved defender
A popular soul
A good stick
Flogger boy of the year,
He,
Jack,
Of Madgen stock
Is no longer
In the twenty two
The black stripe cowers
The white stripe raises itself in retreat
A champion of the club.

44 is not taking to the field
The floggers must find a new victim.
Bianco?
The-Hyphen?
Cameron?
Who will it be?

Who will take on a defender with such courage?
Who will kick the goal from 50 out?
This loss is catastrophic to so many,
His loss will hurt us all.
The soul of the club whines through the Yarra
And deep in the valleys
We mourn the loss of such a man
Demoted to the seconds.

We are broken.
But not out.
We are not alone
Who will replace,
Our guard,
Jack Madgen.

Happy to see Henry back in for Cal but gee we’re a bit light on for talls, esp in defensive posts. We’ll be in all sorts if Moore or Howe get injured. Or Cameron or Checkers.

I’m no fan of Madgen but seems strange to drop him after one of his better games last week and coming up against a team this week with lots of quality tall marking targets.

Good luck to Bianco. Hopefully he can hit a few targets inside F50 and snag a goal or two.

I agree about his strengths, but for now we don't have a lockdown tall defender and are playing a team with talented tall forwards. We have just dropped the only potential defensive tall defender. Moore has not had a great season as an intercept defender. Though I don't expect him to be Presti Mk2, if circumstances dictate that he plays on Lynch then he will need to play a much tighter game than he might wish.

Won't be good weather for tall marking forwards on Saturday.

The weather will have an impact - cold & wet, so if we field a side that is on the short side, it probably won't matter too much.
