I'm not sure why you think Madgen out means a big shift with these guys playing more defensively. It's the defence that we had in the first couple of games of the season, but with Maynard in instead of Madge.

Maybe, we’ll see. I don’t think this is the right time to drop Madgen. It frees up the creative defenders to do what they do best.

We also aren’t a world away from being a finals team this year. Win today we are two games clear in the eight and only percentage away from top four, depending how other results go. How people can throw in the towel and say let’s drop our senior players and bring in even more kids, because we are winning too many games in 2022 …..when our window is three years away…….is mind boggling.

But if we throw in the towel, think of the amazing round 1 draft pick we’ll get!! 🤣

Just jumped on Tigers board for a look and I need to rinse my eyeballs with acid.

Seems they're more concerned with bashing Ginnivan which is a bit rich given they had the most annoying small forward in Higgins not long ago.

Funny thing is, tho, Pies fans seem to spend all our time rinsing our own players while other supporters spend their time rinsing the opposition. It's a funny thing...

I'm struggling to see why. Madge has been zoning as hard as anyone. He hasn't been playing as a tight checker who takes the best tall, allowing more freedom for the others.

Love the selection intention this week, bald calls all round. Good to see Henry back in the fray, Jordy will obviously head back to the centre.

Didn't mind the selection of Bianco, I've been impressed with his last two VFL games, clean by foot and good score board pressure out put.

Richmond is one team you can go small in certain areas, they want the ball at ground ground level.

Alright, let's try this again.

Hopefully this rain washes of Castagna's shit tatts.

It'll take a while to fine tune things and get it right. But the earlier the better. If we start tanking now, we'll get our tanking right in the second half of the season.

… which will lead nicely into our tanking next year and the year after …

… but as Melbourne have shown you’ll eventually win a Premiership around 15 years later!!

I hope he knows what he’s doing. Only a month ago he played the tallest team in history with about seven players over 200 cm and now we are going in with short people. I appreciate injury has dictated terms a bit but todays backline prevents Moore and Howe and even Pendlebury from playing their natural attacking games, as they will have to play more defensively in the absence of Madgen . It will be interesting how they structure it. Maybe WHE goes back, he has the height and mobility for the conditions, has has played well in the past in the backline.

Yes, we’ll be in strife in either Moore or Howe cop an injury. Seems a very strange week to drop Madge.

Then again, we’re going in with one of our most high-skilled line-ups in memory. Nearly everyone a good ball-user - that hasn’t been the case for many years.

Please point me to where I said that? 😂
You said you’d rather us win eight games with WHE out of the side rather than win ten games with him in the side.

Meaning you think we are a weaker team without him but that’s ok because in three years those extra games from Poulter and the better draft pick will make us so much better.

HAHA, what a stretch. I was saying we might lose games because everyone else thinks he makes an impact.

HE MAKES NO IMPACT. We will the same games if WHE plays or doesn’t.

I’m certain WHE has no impact.

The problem with the Melbourne model is that they're not going to get any more high picks. I think they're stuffed.

Youre missing the part when he said to get 10-15 games into a kid. He wasnt sugesting we tank to lose games He was suggesting that we develop the kids and if that kid makes a few mistakes or does not contribute as much as WHE and we lose a match or 2 because of it, then he was okay with that.
Im with him in terms of developing kids as quickly as possible. But I also think that you can introduce too many kids and that if this happens it can be detrimental for their development. The right mix of senior players and kids is needed to maximise their development. I personally think WHE is a slightly better option then the kids listed by many to replace him and he may also bring leadership and help develop the kids around him. But I wouldnt be against a kid taking his spot. Im really on the fence with this one. But the coaches seam to love WHE and I dont see him being dropped any time soon.

Hahaha!! 🤣

They’ll have to console themselves with their 2021 Premiership trophy to keep them warm at night (and the 2022 trophy at this rate)
