Not that our coaching staff ever apply a lot of logic, but theres 0 logic in not playing Newchurch this week....

It's a free hit against the top team.
Every week is a free hit. We are rebuilding, they should be 10x more brave with selection.

It would have been announced yesterday (if not Tuesday) if it was going to happen. Newchurch won't be making his debut against the Demons.

Yes, and no. Yes, his inclusion makes little to no difference to our chances of winning... but having him catching a cold on debut, while the ball is parked permanently at the other end of the ground, does nothing for his development, confidence, or chances of being retained.

Last week would have been a much better opportunity, against a pathetic rabble like Norf.

This is what pisses me off about the coaching staff. I feel they get a lot right but then there's a heap of basic stuff they mess up.

Logically I get why you might not play him against a Melbourne.

Then on that note, if you have such a heightened awareness of the quality of the opposition, then why did they not trial some of Newchurch, McAsey, Worrell, Gollant, Strachan, Nankervis and even Taylor on managed mins, last week against a historically low North?

Yep last week would have been perfect. Instead we played a injured and out of form Mchenry.

In that hypothetical, they'd get our Pick 4, which as you said might end up being 6 or 7 but could also be Pick 3 + Tex + Mrouch. The Crows are bad enough to finish 16th.

Saw Tex and Nicks on TV last night. Tex was saying he's in good form, feels fit and well and definitely wants to play at least another year.
Nicks said same, and that he "categorically" wants Tex to play next year and for as long as we can have him.

I don't care about Crouch, but I'd like to know why you'd take the deal, please.
Jareckon JHF:
1) ... wants to come to Adelaide (and be coached by Nicks et al)? The Crows won't be contending for another 3 or 4 years, maybe more if we stick with Nicks, and
2) ... will be a star? Look what Nicks has done with Dawson/Rachele and other promising juniors.

(Tex also said that the team are a better side when Mrouch is in it ... , but that's to be expected; a bloke defending a good mate)

What I don't like about that Tex comment is that he's being disrespectful to the player who's in instead of Crouch whilst being totally wrong. It's easy to accept him being disrespectful to that player if they're not deserving of their spot, but in this case, they absolutely are. If Crouch could play forward ahead on injured/out of form McHenry, then no worries, but he's a mid only and we're a more powerful side without him in there.

Has only played 1 decent game. Don’t know what sanfl form you have been talking about.
I don’t think it can do any harm playing him. Sometimes when opportunity knocks people grab it. Would love him to play, kick two or three and chase down tackle snails like Lever😋

If I am Newchurch’s old man.. I’m telling my son to ask for a trade come years end..

If no one bites.. im telling him to play for one of the sanfl teams..

He’ll continue improving and will end up getting picked up by an AFL club.. he has too much xfactor, talent, speed and goal sense to ignore.

Get away from the crows son..
