Another tipping game and quickly becoming my new favourite. He’s been so clean with it also. Just love the attacking run also. Glad to see him starting to pop up in the coaches votes.
My only disappointment is trading him out of my SC team.

Ed’s a beauty. Most improved on the list, love his grunt work, but he also has silky skills. Has he grown a couple of cm’s as well? Been great, and importantly allowed Williams who really struggles one-on-one in the D50 to move to a wing where he’s a much more reliable player. Did a great against Langdon.

Every time we play the Pies, Bont should send Ed to toss the coin before the game, and the broadcast camera can then pan to McGuire.

Also, I think Ed likes playing the Pies, look at his disposal average per game compared to every other team:

Another club was very close to signing him in 21 before he resigned and told him he would play HB with them.

No coincidence he was shifted to half back again after playing him out of position for a couple of years. His form as a rookie as HB was outstanding.

We all knew he was a gun defender.

I've actually wondered recently if he could transition into the midfield - to give us a bit more pace and defensive capability out of the middle. I know we'd then need to find another decent defender, but he is quick, good hands, good kick, loves a tackle and can play a defensive role at the same time.

I do acknowledge we aren't exactly short of options there though...

Strongly disagree. Could he make a great midfielder? Absolutely. Should we consider it with the makeup of our list? Not a chance.

We're a team bereft of defenders who can actually defend. He's one of the rare players we have in the side that can win 1 v 1's and be damaging with the ball in hand. The question might have some merit in 4-5 years time if Treloar has moved on with an ageing (shudder) Bont & Macrae.

Ed has been absolutely superb this year. He'll be easily top 10 in our best and fairest this year.

Agree with you in terms of our list makeup and we don’t really have anyone to replace him - but it’s interesting how well he’s developed in the past year that he could actually do that role.
