I hope so, takes the pressure of Johnson, Elliott and Miohocek
I get the feeling that Johnson can handle himself, so I don't think they'll rattle him, true too for Mihochek - Ginni would love them to come at him and McCreery is like a HIMARS, no sense poking that bear. I can't see anyone in the Geelong side that has much intimidation value.

So he has now alerted the medical authorities of his plight and questions will soon be asked and tests applied. Might get another season out of him before he is declared unfit for further play. Would a helmet help?
Docs would have been all over it already. But if not, it is Dan's fault for wrecking the health system.

Dangers the “try hard” tough guy.

Was at a function tonight with some Geelong fans. They are very confident. Other fans there too were also confident about Geelong.

I felt like, as a Pies fan, I was being patronised. A bit like ‘you guys have been fantastic’ but now the real footy starts.

Ok. We’ll see about that.
Real footy? finals footy? what, like high preassure footy? gee we wouldn't know much about that,:think::):)

I believe concussions are a result of the brain bouncing around in the skull.

The above stat got me thinking.

Both Cameron & Hawkins kicked 59 goals this year and it was interesting that neither of them featured on that list.

It got me thinking how many goals did they kick abasing quality opposition?

Against top 8

Hawkins: 16 goals in 8 games. Held goalless once (Tigers). Average 2.

Cameron: 19 goals in 8 games. Held goalless 3 times ( Syd,Freo,Melb). 12 of the 19 goals came against Dogs & us. Average 2.3.

I’ve gone one step further to see how they perform at games at the MCG.

Hawkins @ MCG - 12 goals in 5 games (2.4 average).

Cameron @ MCG - 17 goals in 5 games (3.4 average)

Hawkins @ MCG v top 8 teams:

Collingwood - 3
Richmond - 0

1.5 average

Cameron @ MCG v top 8 teams:

Collingwood - 6
Richmond - 3

4.5 average

Basically, from the stats Hawkins doesn’t kick big bags at the G and can be held goalless.

However, Cameron tends to kick at least 3 goals at the G. He had 6 against us but generally kicks 3.

If we can keep them to a net 5 goals or below, we should win.

Ps.

Hawkins kicked 27 from 9 games at GHMBA (no goalless games). Average 3.

Cameron kicked 16 from 8 games at GHMBA ( 2 goalless games). Average 2

Hawkins is better at GHMBA & Cameron is better at the G.

You forgot the stat that shows Hawkins is number one for score involvements
and number 2 for goal assists, 1 behind Petracca. The only other key forward
in the top 20, is Cameron. Hawkins is the most unselfish full forward to have
ever played the game, he doesn’t care who kicks the goals as long as he helps
the team. When he won the Coleman he was also number one in the AFL for
goal assists, have a look to see if that stat has ever been duplicated.
Anyway, good luck, if we can’t win it I hope you guys go well.

Yeah but Hawkins top pressure act is blatantly pushing opponents in the back and smirking when it is ignored.

PSS OFF.

Ive already done the analysis of Cats scores at the G.

If you remove the Bombers game, you’ve averaged 24.5 scoring shots at the MCG.

104, 80,89 & 86 are your scores. Although, you did kick the 104 against us. You did have the 24 shots.

That was the only game out of the 4 you kicked more goals than behinds. Actually, 66.6% of your scoring shots were goals.

You don’t score as well at the G.

I wish he'd retire. I'm so tired of seeing undersized defenders from our club trying to contain him.

That’s something many miss with him. For a big guy he’s involved in so much scoring even when not kicking them himself. He’s elite, and we watch on with jealous eyes 👀

I'm always a nervous wreck when he contests ball ups inside the fifty zone. He repeatedly outbodies ruckman and lays it on a platter for his teammates.

The Geelong poster came in peace and deserved a more civil response. Say what you like about Hawkins, but it's many years since he rag-dolled Ben Reid in a preliminary final and the guy is still a formidable presence in the team's attack. I wish we had him.

Apologies for the unwarranted abuse from our resident cloud shouter ijaxcat. There is a chip on his shoulder the size of Everest and is not representative of the board in general.

Anything to Naicos and Howe’s training absences? A few media outlets doing their darndest to turn it into something.
My understanding was that Nick missed training as often as required to manage his sore foot. No murmur of anything in our injury report either.

That was the lead indicator to me, but you know how things play out sometimes with only 8 left in it there’s the same resources and less clubs to cover. Everything gets reported on.

We've had to deal with the hoards of reporters flooding over from the Kangaroos training.
