More surprised Hayes got cut.

Also why is Akuei and Fogarty still on the list? Fogarty has had his papers stamped for 12 months and Akuei is rubbish at every aspect of the game.
Akuei whilst an interesting prospect doesn’t have enough tools. Surely there are plenty of other, better Cat B prospects out there. Not gonna make it.

It was Stocker on Elliot in that final play where Elliot kicked the winning goal. Stocker got confused and left Elliot to man the mark on Pendlebury. Elliot got out the back and kicked the goal. I have no doubt this is his punishment.

And it was Durdin’s bung shoulder that led him to kick straight to a Collingwood player in the final minute

Is that the third year in a row we've delisted a mid year draft selection, taken in the same year?

I think the recruiters need a good long hard look at themselves

We didn’t last year. Boyd and Mirkov still around, also Durdin from this year.

So it’s only really Deluca and Hayes.

Was there talk on here of not following game plan?

I noticed in the Dees game and we were set up for the switch, he went the other side to a contest and Weits gave him the mother of all bakes.

In all honesty, I think Boyd has shown more and has probably gone past him.
Time will tell

He was showing heaps as a ruck late in the season.
His tap work and leap, and also his second efforts surprised me.
He was also very dangerous as a forward but just needs some time.

For me, he is worth persisting with over Stocker as he gives us something completely different

This is the worst…..I say again worst decision the club has made in a decade

Why ? What is to gain by delisting him now ?

Please, it's barely in the top 10

That's just insulting to the people responsible for such monstrosities as:

- giving Zac Williams a 6 year, $850k per year contract

- trading 2 second round picks and a state league priority for the right to overpay Mitch McGovern

- the original Stocker trade

- drafting Dow and O'Brien with top 10 picks in the same year. Bonus points for passing on Cerra then trading a first round pick for him later on

- trading back in the draft from pick 12 (next 2 players = Kosi Pickett and Will Day) to draft an injured Brodie Kemp 1 pick ahead of Sam De Koning (whose brother is on the team), then trading up 2 picks later for... Sam Philp (this sequence is still mind boggling poor)

- appointing David Teague as coach with basically no process because he managed to go 5-5 with mediocre list.

Could probably go on and on here.

20 years since top 4. 10 years since finals. 7 years since we started a '3 year rebuild'.

Utterly reprehensible...

I said it last week and I'll say it again. Overweight and out of shape by AFL standards. Clearly Voss wasn't impressed.

And no I'm not a Stocker hater, I loved his hip and shoulders on oppo players and some of the aggression he had... but you have to be able to stay with ur man for 4qtrs and apply manic pressure. He quite simply, could not.
The club is probably a little bit over the ongoing wait for players to get to baseline fitness.

It’s not enough to point to ‘the future’ and expect that’s enough to tie a young player to the club. Glimpses of talent just aren’t enough if you’re not doing the bare minimum to improve yourself as a player.

Meanwhile clubs like Collingwood and Hawthorn are unearthing young players with very little experience doing the absolute most to prime themselves to be AFL commodities.

As much as I liked Stocker and all he could have been, there were clearly enough doubts on his commitment to becoming an AFL player.

Maybe it’s the wake up call he needs and unfortunately he might go on to become a decent player elsewhere but I suspect the club has grown a bit impatient waiting on 4th and 5th year high draftees to get their careers rolling.
