Keys to winning
  • Increased pressure on Swans F50 entries. Swans tall forwards really stretched us in round 22. Pressure on the entry will help.
  • More Cox! He might be a key to us winning this game. He's great in the centre ruck contests, draws defenders when up forward and his around the ground marking has been stronger recently. Last night he was a great connector in several passages of play. His TOG% was 58% in round 22 and 77% last night.
  • Better in the tackle. They won tackles 72-53 last time. I expect us to tackle and play the ground better this time.
  • Win in the middle. DeGoey play this time and we'll need another huge finals game from him. Crisp has lifted after a lull in round 15-20 (below his average metres gained). Callum Mills was huge for them last time, we must stymie him.

I don't think people want him axed, they would just like him to be more involved, he was ordinary yesterday and no amount of rose colored s**t will cover that.
He is a lock for mine , the manic pressure and tackling heat he brings is insane. , where I would like to see him improve is to be a better one touch player , fumbles a lot , if he can clean up that part of his game , we will have a serious player on our hands .

With his pace he should be providing a lead up target, it will come with time.

Think we will go in unchanged. Beat Melbourne last year at the SCG in Buckley's last game as coach, so confident we can handle the smaller ground.

According to the Sydney board, they're still living in round 22 - they seem to think they've got better and we're the same and they'll win by about 40 points.

They will start favourites. If we lose we lose. Margin doesn’t matter… same result.

I reckon we are in it with a big chance though. We don’t have any single player we are overly relying on ( well, maybe Darcy Moore). it’s been a team ethos that has carried us all year and it’s a solid foundation for finals . As is the game plan. Take it on. Move the ball, trust your teammates. Don’t be scared of clangers or turnovers. Have fun.

While I still suspect they’ll ultimately win thanks to the shitty ground we’re playing them on, I don’t think it’ll go the way it did last time.

They played us without De Goey and Flu had gone through much of the club which you could visibly see on the day.

At the risk of putting a negative spin on things, we haven’t won a single game this year against any of the remaining three teams. Or last year for that matter.

First and last negative post for this finals series done and dusted.
Yeah. But we also only lost by a kick to the Cats and Lions in our last meetings, and led the Cats by 6 goals at the last change the time before. The Swans was a flu-impacted game without our most damaging player. Bring it on, I say.

Out Bianco, WHE
In Carmichael Henry

Bianco was terrible and WHE was garbage, wasted a couple simple passes and missed two sitters, he doesn't offer much.

From the last meeting we seems a bit small, Reid took a few big grabs, not sure if we need another tall like Krueger.

Henry creates creativity in the forward 50 which is what we lacked in the previous Sydney meeting.

At the very least Bianco out, he was so far off it

Jack Crisp on 199 games, 200 next week!

I think you should watch the presser, McCrae was very happy with Bianco.

Bianco played his role, I didn't mind his game yesterday. If this coming game was at the 'G instead I'd say no change.

But as it's at the SCG with the smaller dimensions, I think Bianco's role not totally required. I think we need more grunt so I'd bring Carmichael in

Bianco the sub, or perhaps Henry if we want X factor in that role

You’ve got the wrong poster mate - I haven’t bagged WHE
That was me.

He was poor, let's face it. He coughed it up twice into the 50, missed two sitters from directly in front any forward should eat up, barely remember him running and carrying. Did he even lay a tackle? He was marginally better against Geelong

WHE had a dozen disposals, took five marks and had three shots at goal. He had a very solid game and it would have been celebrated as a great game if he’d converted those shots. He remains the best two-way runner in our side and is an important link between defence and attack. He’s essentially a third winger, which is a vital cog in our 2022 game plan.

Suggesting WHE be dropped, especially for a terrible runner like Ollie Henry, is ridiculous. He has played every game when available this season. He ain’t about to be dropped now.

That only takes you one step closer to the next win against them.

And we only have to beat 2 of them 😉
