I honestly thought we were done with the Taranto and Hopper news.... Sounds like we're not done yet and want a mid-range priced KPP.

The confusing part is that Logue would've most definitely be targeted as KPD and meant Gibcus would go forward. Does that mean we keep looking for that solution or do we start looking for a KPF and keep Gibcus back?

Problem is, there's not much KPP available. Darcy Gardiner is a restricted free agent but isn't as athletic as Logue so maybe doesn't fit what we're looking for - and as he's a RFA, he's going to be very expensive so wouldn't work in our TPP.

And please no one mention hacks like Francis (ESS), Schache, Weideman etc.

I reckon we'll just take Tylar Young from our VFL and bank the coin.

Another player who can play forward or back, there's a bit of a thing going on with players that can play in diverse positions.

Miller ruck/forward/defence
Balta def/forward/ruck
Gibcus Def/forward/ruck in the future?
Baker Def/mid/fwd
Rioli Def/wing
Short Def/mid

I'm seeing a transition on the list to get quite a few players that are multi positional.

Insurance against the establishments making further important rule changes, as well as injuries, flexibility for future draft/trade options...

I liked what I saw from Young too. Outshone Gibcus in most of the games and Gibcus got senior time. Has a few years on him mind you but less footy experience. Potential to be a handy defender for basically free.

You can be sure Clarko agreeing to take that s**t job had some promises made in the background. Eg. PP’s and god
Knows what else.

His major problem is he wanted to play a key defensive role and Freo have three established key defenders so he only got games when one of them got hurt or got pushed forward in a role he doesn't like/isn't that good at. He would probably run into the same issues at Richmond, in the short-term at least.
