TARANTO MEETS WITH GIANTS

RICHMOND midfielder Tim Taranto has done a medical with Greater Western Sydney, after meeting with the club in recent days to discuss a potential reunion with his former club.

It's understood the contracted Taranto met with Giants officials while planning for his move to Melbourne to play for Richmond, with the club stepping up its interest in the recently departed midfielder.

The involvement of Taranto could help Richmond in negotiations over a deal for star midfielder Jacob Hopper. As things stand, the Giants are still searching for more than the Tigers' offer of pick No.31 and a future first-round selection.

Taranto has seven years to run on a seven year contract he signed at Richmond in October 2022.

The 24-year-old Taranto has spent no time at Punt Road after being traded this week – Riley Beveridge

SOLDO MEETS WITH GIANTS

RICHMOND ruckman Ivan Soldo has done a medical with Greater Western Sydney, after meeting with the club in recent days to discuss a potential reunion with new coach Adam Kingsley.

It's understood the contracted Soldo met with Giants officials while returning to his hometown of Canberra for an off-season holiday, with the club stepping up its interest in the 204cm big man.

The involvement of Soldo could help Richmond in negotiations over a deal for star midfielder Jacob Hopper. As things stand, the Giants are still searching for more than the Tigers' offer of pick No.31 and a future first-round selection.

Soldo has two seasons to run on the three-year contract he signed at Richmond in September 2021, but is hoping for more opportunities after managing only 13 games this year.

The 26-year-old Soldo has spent eight seasons at Punt Road after arriving as a rookie, including the last four working under Kingsley. The ex-Tigers assistant was appointed as the Giants' new senior coach in August. – Riley Beveridge

Future second back to Gold Coast for Bowes and pick 7 according to trading day is not enough. I think John Ralph said it with indifference!

I am sorry that is not enough. That is corruption. That is not even in the ballpark of the pub test!!

Gold Coast players need to raise the flag and say we are all leaving going forward!!! It might be till our contracts are up, but we are all leaving, Gold Coast is not a football club

If you are a footy player at the Gold Coast you are a moron, if quality, to stick around. Sure some go there to earn a living but Gold Coast cannot win anything and clearly Prestia and Lynch where never going to achieve anything significant at the Gold Coast

On top of that there is talk of Jeremy Sharp being traded out so there is no future up there obviously. Any heart they would have had at that club has been wrenched out with that Bowes trade

Lol at Geelong trying to get Bruhn without using a first… Oliver Henry maybe not worth a first but not Bruhn. If you want him Geelong you should be paying at least his pick 12 draft value. This draft is shit and he has played a fair bit of footy showing he isn’t a dud.

Anyways, that’s why Richmond work trades out respectfully and even if our initial offer is unders, we make it happen.

I am looking at David King pump up Ratagualea's tyres to create a narrative for Geelong to get a better pick for a older guy that has hardly played and even Huddo(Geelong) says has doubts they get 35. Clearly King worries about keeping his job at Fox. Geelong must have some embedded tennacles in the political setup big time. Just saw David King say pick 35 bargin for Ratugolea, lol!!!! **** off!!!

If RFC are serious about ending this corruption they lose to Geelong in home and away so we can bash them in finals!!!

Going forward RFC must tank versus Geelong in home and away to **** them over in their list builds. I hope othe clubs do the same as protest to expose the corruption.

Geelong getting minor premierships for the next ten years and not winning a premiership would be very sweet for many, people can say, just following trend. How about that Gil?

Straight swap Hopper for Soldo.
Soldo was shaping to be the best tap ruckman in the league when that Geesook Thug broke his knee joint in 2 places.

After an injury like that it takes a year to get back on the park and another year to return to form.

Next year is Ivan’s break-out year will be the best ruck in the comp.

Straight swap only and GWS have a bargain.

If Geelong end up getting Ollie Henry for a pick in the late 30’s it will be one of the great trade heists. This kid can play believe me. I have watched basically every game he has played at VFL. It’s his lack of team first attributes that have held him back from more senior footy definitely not talent.
