Im trying to look on the bright side here... at least we get that traitorous Judas out of Arden Street!

Yeah sure the trade was a bit meh but its neither here nor there imo.

JHF has turned into 2 and a future first. Fairly happy with this as I dont think Port will actually go any higher on the ladder next year and could potentially drop.
1 has turned into 3, 40 and 43 essentially. While on the surface it doesnt seem the greatest, Without trading pick 1 we dont get pick 2 with the HF trade. Trading our first pick has upgraded ports first this year 6 spots

Having picks 2 and 3 is a powerful position in the draft. 2 of Sheez, Wardlaw and Tsatas ( possibly Cadman as well ) is a damn good draft haul imo.

Ideally would have liked more than ending up with 40 and 43 but those will come in once the Lions match bids for their father sons. Roughly to 35 and 38. Now if we could trade those together for a mid 20s pick things arnt looking so bad. Or we snag another Paul Curtis on that 35 to 40 range )

so we could have had 1 and 2, for the next month and bent GWS over a little, but we think it smarter to hand 1 over for 3 and picks 40 and 43, because fingers crossed they don't change their mind before draft night, I have to go and have a sleep FMD

I suppose if we were lucky, we could package 3 into a second rounder for a team that needs a f/s.

I heard someone say or post that Cooper Harvey may have a bid late 2nd early 3rd (30-40). Which may absorb 40 and dilute 43. Then we probably don't use 70.

I don’t understand the argument we traded 2 first overall picks for picks 2 & 3.

A. Happily trade that Judas prick from our club, he is a selfish prima donna that never wanted to be here. And,

B. who can say for certain that the players we take at 2 and 3 dont become 300+ gamers/ premiership players/ Brownlow medalist or all Australians for us??

If anything (IMO) we have just evenly spread greater talent over the squad.

I understand the disappointment, but it is in no way possible to call this a failure for at least 3-5 years.
