Yeah but the standard of training are far different to 23 years ago..
Not that far off, if you are at full tilt youre at full tilt. Different yes and more optimised but the gap wouldnt be too large.
Anyway Cox had a broken nose or something that kept him from running too well at that time. Also was BOG in the WAFL grand final 9 months later so its not like we had to wait years for him to come good.

Also the fact he can't even kick it from 50m out .
Pretty sure I've seen him kick one on the run from 50 out...Just.
Besides, he's got other dangerous tricks in his bag unlike legs who was just a good honest toiler. (Legs for comparison due to lack of kicking length)

Once in the system, he should be able to add a bit more depth too.

I think people are being a little harsh on Jefferson at or second first rounder. Getting a mid then the second best tall seems alright to me.

I’d be happy with Clark and Jefferson, hopefully stops the narrative of only drafting WA kids coming out lately. Even better if Hewitt ends up sliding to our third pick!

Would not be happy with Busslinger then Jefferson though as that would be crazy…though going on best talent you never know haha 😳😱

Geez who’s putting their hand up for Jefferson? He’s just a tall lanky nothing. I wouldn’t take him with No 60. Somebody’s pulling something if they are putting him in WCs sights. NO!!!!!!
His highlights are pretty good. Needs to bulk up but seems to read the flight if the ball pretty well which is always a good start for a key forward.

Certainly not at 9, but would be OK at 13 (assuming we have taken a mid at 9).

No way he gets through to 20+ (wherever our pick ends up) but I'd say we would be certainties to take him if he was there.

Jefferson kicked 5 goals in a quarter v WA and easy enough to be very impressed by anyone watching , ended up kicking 7 goals ..

Seven sounds great but have a look at them . Buggar all body work. No chase /tackle ( yeah I know; Jk ruined it for all future WC forwards). I feel he will still be there at 20. I have spoken!!

Have your 610 pages; if Ginbey, Hewett, Busslinger or Allan are available and we don’t take them over a speccie pick then in my mind our recruiting staff have officially lost the plot, if not already.

mmm..

Watch the VM v VC game 10 minutes in 1st quarter , he does a great smother and chase and tackle to win the back but gets letdown when Sheeezle misses the goal ..

Even I can kick it from 20m out on a slight angle 7 times;)

If we grabbed Mackenzie at 9 I’d be happy to grab Jefferson but then the next 2 picks I would like Mids again.

Main Draft:

Mackenzie
Jefferson
Hewitt
Burgiel
Smith/Gilbey (Try & trade up and grab one of them)

Rookie:

Broadbent
C.McDonald

Cat B:

Dewar
Baker

Good effort Not a bad haul , my preference is Hustewaite instead of Burgiel if I wanted to own it ..
