Particularly now that they've changed the rules to allow place names.

Player 1: RUPAT It's an island in the Strait of Malacca, and forms part of Bengkalis Regency within Riau Province of Indonesia

King Corey contemplates his tiles V I T E I V E. Then it comes to him in a moment of inspiration he places VITE before RUPAT and IVE after it. He leans back in his chair smiling arrogantly, the sort of smile that is reserved for Chadstone Food Court.

Player 1: VITERUPATIVE is that even a word? What's it mean?

King Corey: Yeah, I read it on Big Footy

Player 1: Use it in a sentence then.

King Corey: Will Phil was the focus of the viterupative journos who wanted a shot at the club as the stupid Roos took him before wonderboy McDonald.

Player 1: Okay, I'll allow it, if it was on Big Footy it must be true.

King Corey adds up the tiles: That's 20, on a triple word score, so 60 points.

Player 1: F*ck off.

King Corey: You seem very… what's the word… viterupative.
****ing lost it lol

Don’t forget the fifty point bonus for using all 7 tiles…

30. Chom

it is a compliment to him that we have not recruited more tall forwards in recent time. He is the great white hope but I can’t see us playing Larks, CCJ, Chom & a ruck in the same team so he is effectively viaing with CCJ for the forward ruck spot. Can clunk a few & crash packs but also finds every injury known to mankind plus a few more. He needs a clear run at it to finally nail down the spot cos the promise is there.

Loving your write ups Wonderdog, good work. I do think we can play Larkey and Chom forward and two of Goldy/CCJ/Xerri at any one time. Let’s hope Chom gets a good run at it this year.

31. The Goat.

A very impressive debut but why was it in the last round? Another prototype of the modern player: good size, good skills and good decision making. Does he play Hb or on the wing? In either case there are plenty of similar types in those positions so he needs a big pre-season. He seems the exact type Clarko has previously developed into a premiership player.

32. Jacob Edwards

Essentially a second year string bean forward. Free’s recruitment protects him as he shouldn’t have to do too much rucking in the VFL. Big blokes take time but he has plenty in what is a developing side. Needs to improve his forward craft in the VFL with the aim of pushing for a spot as a forward with the big boys. Can’t believe the negativity directed at him on BF.

33. Bgeorge.

If he is half as good as written up we have a beauty. There is no need to seem him on the paddock this year. It is a big investment so let’s get him cherry ripe before we play him. A couple of VFL games at season’s end is the most we could expect and I reckon caution and a big pre-season next year are better options.

34 Arch

So much more than the shutdown defender we were told we had drafted. Did well to get games last season given he went low in the draft. Didn’t seem out of place in his games and provided good interceptions & rebound. Defence is a priority with Clarko but Arch will be competing with Bonar, Hall, Miller etc for spots. Has obviously come off the Xmas in good nick so has given himself every chance.

35. Charlie Lazz

Showed real promise in 21 with speed and outside run but like most of our second year players went backward last year. 22 was a fumble-a-thon for him & he struggled in the games he got. Played closer to goal in 22 & I am not sure that suits him. Bit of an invisible man when our team and players are discussed.

36. Phoenix

Playing for his career. Had some good touches in some matches but just too small & light. We have recruited Drury in his small forward position and have multiple medium forwards as well. Played on the wing in the SANFL where he utilised his speed and run and carry so maybe that is an option. Still young but needs a big year

37. Boomer jnr

Gunna be battling with a few others for the Hf/occasional mid role. His u18 form highlighted his forward craft. Can take a mark and has a bit about him. Will start in the VFL but if the mantra is to play the kids as expected he will get senior time. Has a few other father sons to learn from regarding expectations around his name.

Do we think Clark is still a done deal or even likely to come over?

If he underperforms this year do we even still want him? He’d be 25 in his first year at north. Hard to mount a case that he’s unproven talent at 24.

No doubting the talent, just has shocking luck with injury
