Ogorman and deboy Instead of giving blatant biased frees that outnumber us by 10-15 frees like they usually do , they kept them a bit even as a total but made sure the dogs got there 4-5 in front of goals that weren’t there to win them the match
Yes they got some iffy frees in there forward 50, but then again they did have it in there a lot more than we did.
Perhaps if we stop turning it over as badly as we have for the first 4 rounds we won’t have that problem

No, but the selection this week wasn't the right week to manage Riewoldt and play Ryan instead.

If the plan is to manage Riewoldt and promote Ryan that's great, but once we knew the conditions we probably needed to recognise that this isn't the week that's going to allow Ryan to prove it's a good move. As opposed to Riewoldt who has always been a handy forward in the wet as far as KPFs go.

Agree that Riewoldt would be better in the conditions. But you are saying that we shouldn’t have played Ryan over Riewoldt it is because of the conditions?

Which again leads me to my original point, are you suggesting that we only play Ryan when the conditions are perfect? We are heading into winter, what guarantee do we have that such a game with such conditions will be?

If you’re going to play two talls and every so often blood your next tall forward (as Ryan seems to be); it’s only detrimental to Ryan if he only plays in certain conditions and not in others.

When the ball got hit to them we scored 8 goals. Once the ruck supply stopped, we never touched the ball out side of a kickin.

Problem isn’t the midfielders.

Literally counted 3 times that Prestia allowed Libba goal side who waltzed out of the middle untouched. Twice from centre bounces. That’s abhorrent and nothing to do with the ruck.

Is there a point this year where we go pure youth? Lets say we're 4-1-9?

Guys like Picket, Broad, McIntosh, etc get replaced with development players? We know those three guys are at the level, but do we shut them down and go with the youth?

Must persist with the kids and the play on style. I would also like to see Dow come in.
Areas to tidy up include addressing clearances - Nank probably needs to be upgraded and just making less errors on the kick ins. Although Tigers lost I was actually happy with Hardwick’s coaching as they finally played with speed. Melbourne are clearly the best side so it’s time to just enjoy the rebuild and be thankful for the three flags.
I enjoyed Clarke’s game today as well as how Ralphsmith, Cumbo and Young.
How are we rebuilding when we trading away two years of picks? Sounds like we mistimed where the list is really at.

Mmmmmm but we aren't the filth or dogs now are we? Do you honestly believe if we are to speak up on perceived mistreatment that we will magically shoot up the free kick ladder? Are you high? More likely dimma will get to see some 'special angles' of our frees against and then the supporters will hear absolutely *en nothing like with the lynch goal.

If we are in fact receiving unfair treatment then it will not stop until every last person that has stepped foot into tigerland from 2015 - 2023 is long gone from the organisation.

When we do speak out, nothing happens.

Why would we risk pissing off the powers that be when we could put that energy into making a team capable of overcoming it like '17-'20.

But it's a fair enough point you raise. I hadn't considered them.

Not high yet, but will be a bit later. The thing is we never speak out ever, that’s the problem. You don’t need to piss off the powers that be, you can call it out in a controlled and civilised manner. The fact of the matter is once you highlight something, ot puts it under spotlight, and it just makes it harder for it to keep happening. Subconsciously it will be in the back of their mind and maybe just maybe they swallow that ****ing whistle instead of reaming us.

Most likely nothing will happen, but why not try something different? Sick and tired of copping it week in week out

We are an Awful disposal and clearance team. Plain and simple. This is where we lost. Forward handballing in the wet to no one didn’t help either
Trouble is more than half the time it wasn’t even forward handpass, it was backwards or at best sideways, usually to a player under more pressure and if they weren’t under pressure they would fumble it anyway to get themselves in trouble

Most disappointing thing is that nothing much has changed. Midfield still easily beaten, kicking efficiency poor, umpires reaming us, indiscipline with 50 metre penalties, gaining a good lead and then falling asleep, excessive hamstring issues. The game could have easily been plucked out of the last 2 years for its similarity. The Bullflogs are not a top team so it's even more difficult to accept this loss on our home ground. The kicking skills of players like McIntosh, Clarke, Taranto, Hopper and others is hard to watch as is Balta's decision making, you're continually looking away and just hoping that Balta hasn't done something silly like stubbing his foot as he's kicking or delivered straight to the opposition. The positives were some of the younger players showed something and I still marvel at players like Cotchin, Martin and Rioli willing the ball forward in the last few minutes. Nankverkis tries hard and gives his all but he has little effect on getting the ball forward, still there is daylight between him and the next option. It could be a hard two or three years but hopefully we can eradicate some of the same old factors that have hindered our progress.

Posters dissing Cumbo?..wtf?

Not sure what they were expecting from a player that’s played 10 ish games?

Cumbo was good 21 disposals, 6 tackles 1 goal 2
some mis-kicks…but it was pissing down …was dangerous
Worse DE% on the ground by a country mile. He’s got talent and needs time to develop, but he is borderline best 22 contrary to being an automatic lock, like many on here think he should be

There is I think a lack of understanding around clearance with Nank-Hopper-Taranto and Prestia. That should only improve with time and simple repetition.

That said, I do think Nank’s type of ruck is rapidly becoming obsolete. More athletic, taller and fitter rucks are starting to come through the ranks. Around the ground stuff is great; but against someone like English, where he can get monstered it, it makes it so much harder for our mids.

But we can’t not play him unfortunately. Would love to see Soldo if he wasn’t injured.
