Last week there were four players missing from my pre-season best 22. Worrell, Berry, Schoenberg and McAdam were replaced by Michalanney, Sholl, Jones and Murphy. Since Worrell is probably 3-4 weeks away from playing in the AFL, the only tough call is Berry.

In the preseason Berry looked like he would be going to the next level and his flat start to the season is baffling. Providing he is fit, we must keep faith with him, same story with Soligo, Rachele, Thilthorpe, Pedlar and Michaelanney. I expect no changes this week but I would be happy if we found a spot for Berry. This would be a very tough call but

Out - Sholl, In -Berry (and Soligo plays mostly on the wing).
So:
Sholl, who is playing well and delivering the ball forward with precision,
OUT,
for Berry, whose form has dropped right off, based upon your best pre-season best 22?

C'mon.

AFL 2023: All the Adelaide Crows news ahead of Round 6 clash with Hawthorn

Jordan Dawson’s outrageous recent form has caused speculation as to whether the Hawks will try and tag him this weekend. Crows coach Matthew Nicks says that’s a dangerous game to play.

Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks has warned rival clubs to try and tag captain Jordan Dawson at your own peril following his defender-turn-midfielder’s brilliant early season performances.
The form of Dawson in recent weeks has many saying increased attention is coming for the Crows skipper but Nicks says the 26 year-old has already been getting attention in games – saying it is not as simple as stopping a player by deploying a tag.

“Jordy gets a fair bit of attention as it is. He is playing some outstanding footy. He leads by example and plays an important role for us,” he said.

Adelaide is likely to go with an unchanged 22 to take on the Hawks as the Crows look to continue their strong form.

This means Sam Berry and Shane McAdam will likely be in the SANFL this weekend.

“The challenge for those guys is to embrace that and understand that their turn will come,” he said.

“The season throws up so many things like injuries.”

Pardon my poor expression.

1) Berry was in everyone’s best 22 at the start of the season.

2) He had a fantastic 2022 and was in our best 10 players by the end of the year.

3) Berry is a key part of our future, imho.

He seems to be effected by a slight change in his role and the increased number of players rotating through the midfield.

Many posters (myself included) wanted Thilthorpe to play in Round One. Back in talent! I just believe that we need to be patient with our talented Kids. Some posters were even calling for Soligo to be dropped this week.

I'll be there, driving up in the morning with my son.

Should be a cracker of a day at the footy ...

Can we finally beat the bloody Hawks in Tassie?

I was at the last time we were favourites too - THAT game at Blundstone against the Roos :-(
I’ll be there too - and yup, there for the game against the Roos too. We were sitting right next to the coaches box and I couldn’t understand why Pyke didn’t go ballistic.

Ooh, Nank made the emergency list. That's probably the most juicy thing from tonight.
To be honest I didn’t expect to see many surprises and I fully expect us to go in the same 23 as last week. But this was a nice little prize for all.

So McAdam not even in the 26? Berry also not there? Interesting. Let themselves push their case via the SANFL as eventually injuries will bite. Good to have depth.
To play mcadam after 3 weeks of no game time they wouldve had to play him in the Carlton game..

now its been 4 weeks a sanfl game to get a run in the legs is pretty much the only option..

that fxxkn pathetic tribunal bullshit has stuffed the entire start of his year up.

Ditto, it's good to see Nank is edging ever closer a debut.

Sloane, Thilthorpe, Milera would be locks

McHenry for the Sub

Soligo in prime position but unlucky to miss with Hateley, Nankervis and Himmelberg as cover for late outs up to Saturday

We don't tend to use same sub two weeks in a row, and considering Hately is out of the blue, my guess is Hately sub.

The other thing we could do is McHenry in, Soligo sub, which seems like an overreaction.

This would be one week I wouldn't mind the same sub, as no one else played last week anyway

Gather McAdam has missed too much football & now comes back via the sanfl.
