Pretty sure the conflict of interest thing was one of the main reasons SOS got the boot at Carlton.
Even though he wasn't on the match committee there or here, it's just a very bad look. And - we don't need him.

I was out spoken about his (SOS) appointment the day he joined the club. He has the 'midas touch' he basically f○○ks everything he touches. If he brings his son across who is a fringe player at a poor club, then what hope do we have? This whole RTB bringing his mates in is starting to look very deja vu

We need to throw the kitchen sink at an A grade mid

Yeah the longer the season goes the worse our midfield looks and the depth is paper thin. Having nothing in the cupboard shows why Gags was moved on.

Our forward line is stacked but the midfield is going backwards with a couple of injuries derailing us. We have struggled without Steele and losing Clark tonight left us with Crouch and a struggling Ross to do the heavy lifting.

If we have all hands on deck and all fit we compete with most but three years in a row injury to mids exposes us.

Midfield the clear gaping hole alongside the 2nd ruck/fwd spot.

I know its easy to get brutal after Saturday, but there's not going to be a huge clean out. We can make a couple of tough calls though.
I think looking at the midfield group, we're already light on and poor in there. I think Jones gets delisted. That's a decent cap cut.

You dont necessarily cut Seb, but you've gotta be firm on money, it should be one year at no more than 500.

Incredible the lack of midfield we've added in 10 years via draft. We have to consider top mids.

Really feels like JDG is a true Sliding Doors moment for us, but that’s what we have to keep chasing as hard as we can.

Injuries aren't the issue, the midfield just isn't good enough.

Steele not being 100% hurts but losing Clark wouldn't have made a difference. After that we've been rolling with the same guys (Crouch, Ross, Gresham) for 3 years.

Moving Sinclair in their just means we lose our drive off half back

It's time to admit that this midfield will not get us anywhere and inject some youth.

From what I've heard about this draft, Harley Reid aside there's little in the way of midfield players, key position, tick. Ruck, tick. Small forward, tick. The Port recruiter laughingly said there was 11 elite HBF. (shoot me now) Whether we trade pics for player's do the free agency or there's someone tat has yet to poke their heads up, I've also heard that the recruiters are waiting for the championships because they're unsure of the quality of the kids, this may be the year of the bolter for us.

We need to start chasing Noah Anderson or Flynn Callaghan types more than another KPF. We couldn't get the ball anywhere near our forwards. We have a heap of fire power at the moment but can't find any one to get it to them.

But he made mistakes getting involved in aspects outside his expertise in his first stint and its looking like he has been allowed to make the same again. He was basically running the club over that period and look at the damage his good mate Elshaugh made of the list.

RTB stuffed the Luke Ball trade, he drove the Lovett recruitment its proven that he is arrogant and uninformed when it comes to recruiting. I believe he has the clubs interest at heart, but he shouldnt be allowed to have so much pull in those decisions and that includes the appointment of the List Manager. One of his famous quotes is "let the cobblers do the cobbling", but he only applies it when it suits him.

I think once the championships are played there will be a lot more midfielders come to light. I dont think its a lack of quality mids, its just the make up of the draft is different to last year. This year there are highly rated key talls, ruckman and flankers rated in front of the mids ATM. If we finish mid table it will work in our favour as a very good midfielder should be available at our first pick, as clubs around us fill other list needs.

We need to throw the kitchen sink at getting Ben King. Then put him at fullback and move Howard to CHB.
Then, just to really mess with the opposition - get the King brothers to swap jumpers at the end of each quarter,
so they each play at the same end of the ground for the whole game. They will become very acclimatised and have
a high "footy IQ" regarding the nuances of playing at that end of the ground, greater than the opposition - a
significant advantage to us - 2 players on the ground with some "secret something" they have that the opposition
can't quite understand or even begin to cope with. It is the gate to heaven.
