How can that possibly be considered saving face. I try to look at things objectively, so as to allow for my Richmond bias when viewing decisions, but how can you possibly umpire a game that is close for a fair part of the 2nd half but have the free kicks at almost a 3 to 1 ratio. Go back to earlier in the game and the Tigers got out to a 6 goal + lead but at that time I think had only 3 frees. It does not make any sense, to lead you a game you would generally need to be first to the ball which should mean the opponent is chasing and more likely to be the offender in their quest to tackle etc. in attempt to regain possesion. The inconsistency of the interpretation is frustrating and making the game hard to watch from where I stand. On this point I am not only talking about our games but an overall view. Brings out all my cynical views, I worry about about the betting and production of the product. To the AFL, please give us back our great game and not just an entertainment production.
