It looks like we are still having trouble attracting players to Moorabin? A good result for Carlton, but we still need another ruckman. Its obvious the club doesnt rate Campbell and Heath is still developing. Perhaps GWS Matt Flynn as a FA or attempt to prise Nick Bryan out of Essendon?

I love that we have been linked to Sam Flanders by Twomey - hopefully he is on the money. Flanders is the type of player we could afford to offer a lot more money that what GCS would. So fingers crossed...
If we want another ruck to replace Campbell, Nick Bryan from Essendon.

Much more up side that Matt Flynn. Long term I think he will be a gun.

Ned would just be grabbing his opportunity to leave l think.
What’s the story? Vic boy wanting to come home?
Why do we think he’s a chance - do we have any prior connection with him.

Don’t know much about him as you can probably tell.

Yes Vic boy who was one of Dew’s many victims, refused to play him. Putting up large numbers in the seconds and now looks at home in the AFL

I’ve only got the Herald Sun app version so I read but can’t copy paste Jay Clark’s latest version. At least the clubs are throwing up a stink about Roos possibly being able to prelist Sanders. He would be ideal at our prospective pick location

Its a joke tbh.

If it goes through and Norf get pick 3 compensation for McKay then we will see 6 of the top 10 picks split between Suns and Norf.

How would you explain these bizzare rules to someone new to the sport lol.

Norf being rewarded handsomely for poor list management. Run your eyes over their roster, they have like 3 notable Key defenders on the entire list, one is leaving and the other just did his ACL and the healthy one is 29 year old Aidan Corr.... Embarrassing.

We have apparently been showing an interest. If they are getting a star coach it might make him more likely to stay though.

I have a couple of Carlton mates who are very very keen for JSOS to end up anywhere but Carlton. I have no idea if he's any good but they seem pretty convinced he's not.
Carlton supporters are either adamant he's one of their most important players or he's a huge spud. There is no in between.

We just don't need another undersized key forward like JSOS.

It would be a very strange move.
I really rate him I could see him being a very valuable addition to out team, very smart footballer. I think his production would go up in our forward line. I’d expect 25-30 goals and he would limit the flogging we’re getting weekly from opposition interceptions Imo.

He gives 💯 effort and cracks in but we have much bigger needs

I’ll say we do but when he’s mentioned I always think of a virtual freebie. I’m so bored with always being the bin chickens looking through the stuff others throw away. This draft is so compromised and may get worse, what choice do we have unless we clean the place out and start a near complete rebuild.

we do need people who try and he'd make our side better so if he cost f all then why not

It’s the role Hayes will fill when he’s fit IMO and we still have Membrey and King to come back in, not to mention other mid size forwards like Owens and Phillipou.

Not sure why we’d bother

I can’t see the AFL going ahead with what has been reported as the North compensation. I think they are just testing the waters to see the reactions from clubs:

They will get something no doubt, but it won’t be both a high pick for McKay and a free shot at a gun NGA. Maybe one or the other if they are lucky.

Exactly he is a good battler but far from a list need. Hopefully he does get another chance, someone mentioned Richmond I agree they would be a good option for him.

I was just thinking of poor kids, getting better second hand uniforms during the summer holidays.

McKay should get something in line with the free agency rules.
In other words it depends how much his new club is paying.

Custom picking a kid in the draft is taking the priority system to a whole new level and that's what it amounts to.

If i was North , i'd be offering West Coast their first pick (2) along with a third for Pick 1.
If i was West Coast, i'd take it. North then end up with a pretty handy player.
