I reckon jsos is a good player.
Whipping boy at Carlton amongst fans and Coaches, they ask too much of him.
Thrown around the ground too much like battle and Acres for us past.
As we seen both improved once in a settled role.

Is there a coach around that loves role players who give 100% efforts at contests?
RTB will settle jsos into a half forward role and get the best out of him.

In the case of West Coast, they'd be doing it forewarned that Reid will be wanting home to mommy.
They could still take another player with pick 1, but they might as well sell it if they can still end up with the next best option.
There’s a lot of talk over here about WC trading there no1 for 2x top 10’s as they have too many problems to solve with just 1 elite kid. Call me conspiratorial but I reckon that’s what driving the “extra top 10 pick” for North. Trade to WC, Harley stays in Vic, avoid the hot mess of #1 picks wanting home which is a terrible look for the AFL. Or not.

I'll flipping spew, Wallace style, if Norf end up with Harley Reid.

Can't stand those tin rattling flogs.

Possibilities :
1: Eagles draft him despite being warned he doesn't want to go interstate.
2: Eagles decide to heed the warning, decide to go the next best player and trade to Norfs.
3: Eagles decide multiple first rounders would be better for them and take a couple of later first round picks for him.

I can understand why he is touted as No 1, but personally I would rather others than Reid. I think WCE were always going to trade their No 1 pick and take local talent eg Curtin, Edwards and Hall with their traded in early picks. Its no point if you are at the bottom of the rebuild taking kids who will want to return home by the time the club is up and going again.

They have drafted Vic & SA kids in the past, but it was generally when the club was playing finals and backed themselves to settle the kids into Perth.

Sheezel, Wardlaw and LDU look on the way to elite. Simpkin, Thomas, Zuurhar, Larkey, Curtis all very good players. Corr, Stephenson, Greenwood, McDonald all very competent players. Plenty of developing quality kids like Phillips, Goater, Drury, Combden etc.

They have Goldy, Cunners, Ziebell etc that they will probably unload and stay down so they can play for more packs too. They are deliberately not playing to win.

They have a better list of young players than us but just need to play the kids until they rise up the ladder. Adding more kids to their pile won't make them rise quickly. They already nearly knocked us off twice.

Norths midfield in the next decade is going to be f*cking incredible.... North Melbourne closer to a flag :tearsofjoy:

You forgot this bloke.

Funny enough I thought of him after someone else mentioned him on here and just forgot to write it. They will be able to trade out some midfield talent for established KPs too. Weird decision to let McKay walk because they have Larkey at one end and him at the other which looks a solid start to a spine.

This is an excellent draft for key position talent so perhaps they'd rather not trade up for Harley Reid. Maybe Hawks will end up with him if they can trade up.

WC will want the WA kid who's top 5 but won't be in front of Reid. They took 2 very good mids last year too.
Norff will pay this year's and next years 1stRDP for Reid give or take some haggling.
WC get the guy they want this year and will have picks 1 and 2 to play with next year.
9 and 14 last year. 2 this year. 1 and 2 next year. And another top 5 in 2024.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Hawthorn or GWS come hard either

King is also a bit of a Gherig, where he does his goal kicking and leaves the rest up to others. Jack S is more a warrior and pack horse. He does the ugly stuff so others look good. Caminiti does a bit of both. I think it has a bit of everything that way and makes us a lot more multifaceted. Two Kings sounds great on paper but you have two big lump types who don't ruck and don't chase. I prefer that Demons style set up where you have several very different avenues to goal.
Hopefully you mean the geelong setup. Melbourne's forward line is as bad as ours despite having a gun midfield feeding them the ball.

I'm very happy we're not getting TDK. Absolute spud.

I am one who is disappointed we couldnt get him across. After watching his game last night, I dont think he is far off taking his game to another level. With more games he will start clunking his marks, improve his positioning and strength in the contests. He has lifted his efforts significantly and I can see the reason we showed interest in him. Either way it didnt happen so its on to the next rucking target...my old man always said things happen for a reason, so our next target might become a star.

I would still love to see Moose (Heath) get a game or two before seasons end!

Maybe but neither of them come close to the capital that Norff can offer. Both could finish mid table next year if not better.
Don't forget Melbourne they have Freo's pick 5/6 and say pick 14. Throw in a WA player like we did with Acres and pick swaps the balance. Allows WCE to get local talent where they are ranked in the draft.

GWS if they did have cap issues could only get worse if they make finals. So may have to offload talent and picks to fix. If Whitfield rumour is right we are then an outside chance with WCE.

The last time a backman got pick 3 was Frawley and I so not consider McKay in the same league....more likely a late first rounder for Norf...after our pick.
