If we can't get wiz or mckercher, I would be making the move for pick 1

Agreed! I have a lot of faith that Serong will come good in defence and McCabe will be a quality defender.

The issue is that WCE will want Curtin.
Logically, after losing McKay and Logue, logic would dictate that NM take Curtin.
As they're dickheads, they won't ...

Not sure how we get a deal done if North rock up during trade week and say 'we're taking Curtin with pick 3' so you'd better trade with us.

Those fuktarts are NOT getting priority pick 3! We really have to kick up a stink about it as a club, we're too quiet . Start rolling the rhetoric now through media mouth pieces and or someone from the club joins a conversation on SEN and just says that they'd be very surprised and disappointed if pick three was ' Gifted' to that rubble! Obviously in a subtle and more political way.

They can have the money and hammer or they can walk out unharmed - they can't have both

They should get a priority pick this year, next year and the year after. Need them to be an AFL level team by the time they move to Tasmania.
And that is how they get all 4. North effectively gets designated as the incoming Tasmanian side and prelists Mckercher and the colonel and then drafts Watson and Curtin. 4 more careers in jeopardy!

We still get one of Duursma or Curtin who are both quality prospects. I’d be frustrated at losing Wiz but it isn’t the end of the world.
I think there’s a big gap between Reid/wiz/Colby and the rest. I know they played Curtin in other positions this season but he’s been a key back his whole life. I don’t want to use another top ten pick on a key back when you can get key backs a lot cheaper

Sounds like it will be end of round
No, it just sounds like the AFL will say that the salary has met the first round compo threshold.

Watch the Roos not even attempt to match.

I did a little bit of maths and he'd need to be paid in the top 5% of players his age (there are 63 players his age, so that means he'd have to be top 3). Meaning he's competing with Weitering, Bowes, Hipwood, Larkey, English, Redman and of course his dear brother. The new contract would need to be worth over 800k per year. It should not happen.

But then I remember the AFL is involved, so different "interpretations" are possible. They would love nothing more than to help North and punish us in one move, and then claim it's all in the formula.

Daring Trade Raid??

What the sh1t even is that?
I can beat this, with… winning the race for your own player.

Ryan is worth an early second. Supremely talented but his injury history across the last two years leaves a lot to be desired.

Pick 33 is slightly too low. Brocky (should he request a trade) + our third? Eagle supporters won't like that but Brocky is worth a second by himself.
IF Brocky wants to go back as does DGB, I wonder if pick 3 + Brocky + DGB + F2 could net us pick 1 + Ryan

Brockman for Ryan is one of those rare player/player trades where it's a huge win for both clubs.

Ryan is i think the same age as Eddie Betts when he moved to Adelaide. Adds some much needed firepower and stardom up front. When fit, I think he's equally the best small forward in the comp with Charlie Cameron.

Brocky is one of the best young small forwards in the comp, and if we didn't understand his family situation wouldn't find it hard to convince someone to pay a first rounder.
