I wonder whether retired Jason Castagna (27) is worth recruiting. He was a role player at the Tigers.

Hawthorn front runner for Henry, per Sammy Edmund

He didn’t sound overly confident tho, but he did say he’s gonna pick a Melbourne based club. Don’t think anyone knows

Henry needs his Manager to tell him that.

He could become a fantastic player in a Lyon coached team. Blokes like Hill and NWM could help fast track his development.
Hope his manager is not the same one who told Grundy that moving to the Demons would be a great idea!

Nas is an absolute gun. Was a bit unsettled last year, a young kid terribly homesick.
Wanted to go home, his dad told him to be a man and honour his two years contract.

Mason Wood took him under his wing, and moved home in with him and settled him.

At the same time the club had a monumental shift with Lyon and his team coming on board, resulting in him extending his contract.
Kudo's to his family, his teammates Nas himself and the club in settling the young man.
He wouldn't be playing the football he is without him being happy and settled.

A complete good news story.

There is a definite correlation between Nas' spike in form and his contract extension. Seems at home now, and is literally getting better each game. He has a very height ceiling you would think; could be the best half back flanker in the game, maybe second behind Sinclair ;)

Hedging his bets somewhat, is Sammy. Only 10 to choose from.

We should be all in on Flanders midfield need is our highest priority overpay if need be Gold Coast likely to be offering unders and longer term given their Cap constraints. He is the best of the available mids by some margin and has scope to be A grade. A good match with our future midfield of Owens and Pou.

Henry is a nice to have not a pressing need I expect Hawks and Dogs who have more need for a genuine wing will offer more $ than we are able to. With Nas Hill Byrnes Wood Winghager and Sinclair already in the team and Hotton and Peris in development can't see us selling the farm for Henry.

Dow has shown both his best and worst in this little spell as an inside mid has real skill at clearance but everything else is poor. I am OK if this costs very little but his kicking is still Jason Daniels level I expect if he was on our list it wouldn't take long before this became a huge frustration for most of us.

Still need to keep a reasonable hand in the draft but now we are out of the Top 10 picks the rest are a lottery and a bit underwhelming

I imagine the major appeal in chasing Gresh is Hawthorn don't need to give anything up apart from cap room. If it suddenly comes to costing a first round pick they aren't doing it.
Like us with Crouch. If they offer 600k and he want's to go, do we really match and have a disgruntled player on our books?

So after drafting 15 years worth of HBF'ers we finally will have the two best in the League. Do something for long enough, it is bound to pay off :D:D:D

Unfortunately it’s not just an overly strong draft for midfielders unless you have a top 5 pick

Harley Reid , if he doesn't go first, ( He has said he wants to stay in Victoria ) he will go second.
Jed Walter, Key forward, Gold Coast will match a bid.
McKercher , Mid
GOLD COAST PICK.
Curtin, Tall defender with some midfield ability.
Zane Duursma, forward with some midfield ability.
Ethan Read , Ruck with some midfield ability, GC will match.
Watson , Small forward.
Sanders, mid. North are trying to get the AFL to let them take him as an academy player first round.
Rogers, Mid GC academy.
O'Sullivan, Tall defender
Nate Caddy, forward with some midfield ability.
Murphy , Key Defender
Edwards , Ruck
Wilson , Forward/Mid. Possibility for our draft pick?
Croft : Key Forward
McKabe : Key Defender
Archer Reid: Ruck/Fwd

If Hawthorn offers Gresh a package and we match purely to force a trade (which is a super risky move, I'd totally melt if we kept him on good+ coin) do you see a way of packaging Gresh plus something (or a few things) for Pick 3?

Gold Coast the ones who would potentially move their pick.
If someone bids on Walter before their pick it will vanish in a puff of trade points.

No reason Nas can't stay on a HBF for his career. just 10-15 years of elite run and kicking out of the defensive half to bust open any zones.

He's only got better as the seasons gone on and was stiff to miss AA squad (compare his stats to Redman's and he comes out on top)

Imagine how much better and confident he'll be with 100 games under his belt.

We're going to get use to Nas rolling off half back with two bounces and hitting out either King with a 50m bullet.
I got to meet him after the last round last year.
Put a pic up on FB with the caption St. Kilda's next Brownlow medallist bookmark it. 😊

Cordy is e
Dougs best role is at CHB.

Battle is a better intercept mark, better kick and better swing man so he is in front currently.

Cordy has been deployed to FB and been fantastic. One of the recruits of the year if you look at his impact as a forward to start the season and now as a defender to finish.

Howard is still a solid player but in the RTB power rankings he's 3rd in line now. Given his contract status and potential value, it makes sense to cash him in and recruit another Cordy type cast off for half the money.

Pick 27 (Essendon)
Pick 29 (Hawthorn)
Pick 30 (Sydney)

All of these are probably fair value from the teams looking to recruit a KPD this off season.
Cordy is also excellent as a chop out ruck...all hail the king I say 😊

Our future first , current second and third , and Gresham compensation...
For Flanders and GC Suns current first.

Use GC pick for Sanders if available , or Duursma.

Use our first for Koen Sanchez.

Position: Small forward/midfielder

Size: 176cm

Clubs: East Fremantle/Applecross Mt Pleasant

A pocket rocket who pushed up a few draft boards during the carnival, booting 6.8 and averaging 18 disposals and nine contested possessions for WA. Sanchez played in the midfield for two games and inside 50 for the other two – and clubs were particularly thrilled by Sanchez’s output when he played closer to goal as he showed off his powerful kick, goal sense, speed and agility. After being hampered by hip and groin issues for several years, Sanchez is thriving — and has a growing list of fans at AFL club level.

A cure for cancer perhaps ?

Strange that there are 3 Melbourne clubs keen on Bailey Smith and we are not one of them.

Could only mean that we’ve got Ned Flanders ready to go

Or we think he is more trouble than he would be worth. More trouble than Jordan De Goey!

Maybe we're learning from our mistakes like bringing in Carlisle, when we knew there was an extremely high chance he was going to get suspended for the PEDS.

Not to mention his nose beers footage.
