I think you're looking for the wrong thing in a sub. He's going to get to a heap of contests and give us an outnumber quite often.
He does that anyway though, he's just not particularly valuable in the form he's in.

In his best games it's not a few key moments that stand out, it's the cumulative effect of his running that let's him get to more and more contests as the game goes on due to his endurance.

The subs who have worked are players who can make an impact with few possessions, not the other way around. As a sub Lipinski is really just injury insurance.

Either way I'm just glad he's out of the 22, was a ballsy call that would've been much easier not to make.

Let's hope he's pounding that treadmill for the first 3 qtrs on the bench so he's ready to go when he comes on.

Frampton playing forward according to Leppa, hoping that’s just a ploy to deceive our opponents.

Makes no sense whatsoever to select two ruckman and have them rotate off the benche. finals are gruelling it makes more sense to share the load.

Ideally we play Cox forward, Frampton back with both rotating for Cameron. If we want a smaller forward line drop a ruckman in and bring in Macrae or Noble FFS.

Not for the first time, most of the media “experts” have tipped us to lose.

For the ‘experts’ it’s a combination of hope (we don’t win) and stubborn refusal (to understand how we win).

Yeah the media are a fickle bunch, they were pretty much on the bandwagon all year right up till the Port Adelaide game (a game which we won) then since then it’s all been negative and downhill.
Our last 6 weeks haven’t been close to our best. Although I don’t mind the under dog tag.

Watching the training highlights footage reminded me that Frampton is quite the physical specimen. Here’s hoping he can get hot coz he would be difficult to match up on if he does.

If he can get himself involved early, Andrews will have more than intercept marks to think about. Mihocek, Elliott & him need to use the space well.

Frampton for McStay is a sensible change, though it comes with the risk of Frampton lacking finals experience. To maintain the size and balance of our team, he needed to be brought in.

Lipinski had a stinker for much of the PF, so he's lucky to hold on. Once Adams was ruled out, I think his spot was secure albeit as the sub.

It's getting real now...
Even Mick Malthouse has come out and said you can't change the structure of the team this late. Hence Frampton was probably our only real option.
Did bring to mind the 2003 GF though where Jason Cloke was switched to CHF to replace the cruelly suspended Rocca.

It was all lip service until the moment they realised we might actually go all the way for real

But we have been selecting 2 ruckman for a while. The setup is no different to what we have been playing with.

We have rotated our rucks off the bench AND had them on the ground at the same time.

Frampton for McStay is a necessity.
No need to fiddle with the game plan and/or structure.

Absolutely incorrect. The backline does not need to be changed, although frampton will be handy to swing back in game if circumstances demand it.. hopefully not needed because we are winning.

Frampton has been selected to replace mcstay. He will largely do that. He might do the role slightly differently ie play a defensive role on Andrews…… and given the warm weather conditions could spend some time in the ruck to give Cameron and cox the ability to recover after shorter bursts. This would also allow cox more time forward where he has been a finals hero in the past.

As for the smaller forward line, we achieved that not by bringing frampton in, but by swapping Ginnivan for Lipinski.

Don’t understand your point on macrae or noble. They aren’t forwards. We already have trouble fitting our mids into the team with lipinski elbowed off to the sub bench , and markov has replaced noble.

The impartial money men have us faves. However come 2.30 tomorrow arvo none of that will matter. It will be the side most desperate for the win and I’m confident Fly has chosen the side and has them primed to be that side.
Pies by 31.

Absolutely, and the last thing we want to do is unsettle the back 6/7, they have won us our first 2 finals and can take us all the way!!

Well now the team is in I can finally start getting pumped. Haven’t been able to concentrate until now for some reason. A few feelings.
Many pundits seem to have forgotten or don’t want to remember how good an attacking team we are. I think we will see a return to our audacious, daring best. It’s how we want to play and we won’t be dying wondering.
Our third quarters in both finals so far have been barely mentioned but have franked our credentials for me. It seems we have a five goal quarter up our sleeve whenever it’s needed.
I feel like we need a couple midfielders and a winger or two to contribute on the scoreboard this week as goals from the midfield could be the difference in the end. I think we’ll attack more and this will bring our goal scoring mids right into it.
Pies to win running away…………
in extra time 😬😜🙏

One excruciatingly long day to go!

You Victorians are very lucky to have a public holiday to help distract and absorb the remaining time. I’m off to a long day at work today…..but wearing my vintage 2010 jumper with No 10 on the back of it!

My gut feel - if its combative and low scoring, we win. If it’s a free-flowing shoot-out, I don’t think we’ll be able to contain them.

Go Pies!

On Radio National now, Dark Master Micky again tips Collingwood

Says the game is ours if we want it

Will be quick ball movement between the 2 fifty arcs

But not high scoring

(and Heath Shaw is one of his favourite players of all time)

We’ve had two games against probably the best defenses in football (other than ours) and managed to get a lead and park the bus.

The game prior to that we scored the first 12 goals against Essendon, and again put the cue in the rack.

We can score when we need to.

Brisbane have played at home to Port and Carlton, whose defensive capabilities are minimal. Of course they are going to look more exciting and dangerous.

So pick a roughie any roughie for Norm Smith with Kane and king on sen. Josh Jenkins doing his work with sportsbet.
King: Andrews. Kane: Mckenna jenkins: Bailey.

Says it all
Go Pies stick.it up then!

Jenkins wouldn’t know about being BOG in a GF. Went missing in 2017
