The logic is that West Coast would probably value getting more than one very good draftee out of this spoon year. They don’t have the player leaving that North did last year to grab Sheezel and Wardlaw, but they do hold the top pick in a draft where that has extra value. May well go with the single player but there are reasons so many people think they might not.
And I agree - it MAY be beneficial to trade down to improve the lacklustre mid draft holdings - but it would have to be of value.
The offer of four mid picks doesn’t address anything here . Again, I refer back to the perfectly reasonable Hawthorn offer.

It’s just a matter of what Rawlings is happy to pony up and whether it nets us what we need.

I reckon the deal happens myself. Neither of us will be perfectly happy.

Rawlings on SEN this morning super keen to move on 15, 17 and 18 (& 57).

Anyone have a list of clubs list vacancies?

3 for 6 and a F1
Dees would bite our hand off for that deal, which is the very reason we shouldn’t be doing it.
You don’t trade backwards when you hold 2 and 3 in a draft. Possibly from 3 to 4 on the night, if we know who the recipient of 3 is taking.

We can shape the whole thing from a month out. Don’t move.

Just a quick question what is the better value O'Sullivan at 10 or Curtain at 6?
Curtin at 6. I like O'Sullivan but KPDs always take time to develop and its hard to pick the good ones at 18 years old.

Curtin brings a bit more and might be a good pick without becoming a KPD.

O'Sullivan also wants to to be a forward.

I’ll be happy. Not especially invested in any outcome in particular.

To be honest I haven't seen much of O'Sullivan play but what I have seen of Curtain I can see a very good player in 2 to 3 years time.If we pass on Curtain I hope it doesn't come back to bite us.
