So does that mean there are nearly 40 odd players worse than him on the list in his BF years.
Dont get me wrong, Jy isn’t a bad player, he makes too many mistakes by hand and foot and he is pushed off the ball too easily. The point I am making is our midfield will go past Jy in 12 months. The coaches know this, thats why he is being slowly removed from the midfield by playing “other” roles.

Do you think he can make it say in the forward line and be a better player in your view. Personally i rate him a bit higher than you. Lets hope what ever role we have him playing he contributes, and we have a great or better year than the last few.

Far out Jy is judged harshly on here.

Very happy with him.

I have every expectation that as we have talented kids come through and are able to shoulder more of the load Jy's on field performances will actually improve.

For a pretty long time while the team has had the sh*t kicked out of it we've looked to him to carry more of the load than is probably fair.

IMO he probably deserves the captaincy on his own in 24.

Ive been thinking about Jys best role for the team.. Back pocket on a small forward? I believe there is definitely a future and a roll for him there. I’ve thought about how we keep Jy moving forward, keep his leadership, his commitment and nullify the blow of his disposals (hand balling at feet will cost us dearly there though) but feel moving forward beyond 2024 thats his only plausible position

Could he eventually be transformed into a tagger? His disposal skills would be less of an issue then.

I think that Jy is pretty good in the middle we won't have a healthy lineup every week.

I also think that if Jy played the forward role that turner played last year then he would bring the pressure and run, like Kayne, but be much more dangerous as a forward.
I dont know. Plausible. Reckon he’d be a better defender on the likes of Kosi pickett and co. He would have higher advantage in that role

Jy does most things right and to an above average standard! He has his weaknesses like most players. I just wish disposal wasn’t one of them.

He's leading the way in his training

He is in ripping physical condition - setting great examples for our youth
He was a good captain when we needed it and can continue to show leadership on the track and off field. He has come along way since he was hit by a motorcycle blind.

He should be a stand alone captain in 2024. Beyond this year, he is going to struggle to be a best 3-6 midfielder

Might be able to stick him on a wing considering his tank. Especially if there are any plans to play Bailey in the back half.
Might have more time to get his kicks away with more space, hopefully leading to more accuracy than what we've seen from him lately.

I agree. I hate more than one captain.
