I repeatedly strain to make this point to the pro-Hinkley zealots on socials.

If the Crows spent 12 years plodding on with Neil Craig we’d all be cockahoop.

Except beyond being record-breakingly stale, Ken Hinkley is quite possibly the least intelligent, innovative, charismatic, inspirational, honest and tactically astute coach of the past 20 years.
That crows list was pretty average outside the centre square, we should be happy Craigy never got to work a great list.

When I stumble over old articles like this one it baffles me the club endorse the Senior Coach, players and employees involvement in various gambling syndicates.

I guess we are just lucky Ken has everything under control and knows what he is doing. Like his coaching, he is gambling at the top of his game.

What would it take to actually be rid of this guy?

A wooden spoon in a contract year? One of those scandals?

He would have to be marginally aware of things around him to get involved in anything other than iced coffee and dog racing.

Unfortunately this muppet is not leaving until he decides he is ready to give up money for jam. I'm guessing when he is about 78 years old. Don't be fooled though he looks 80 but he is only 57 wtaf

We need more stickerman shenanigans.
It would need to be a thousand times bigger & stickers all over town, as much as I love stickerman he was painted as the lone gunman picking on great guy/king coach Kenny and not representative of the Port masses.

Which is why we need more. Stickers, banners at games, donuts thrown on the field. Let's get a meme insurgency going.

Further proof that Hinkley is completely lacking in self awareness. A guy who is heavily involved in both the greyhound and horse racing industries and encourages impressionable young men to get involved in those industries cautions on the evils of gambling.

Iced Coffee? Ken isn't in to that south strayan delicacy.

With Ken having 1 year after this, what is the actual plan if we

Doesn't drink though, he's a saint really.

This is it simply speaking for me, the club top down has become more concerned with the fluff element and game-day experience than with results and premierships. The place feels more soulless to me now than it did in 2011.

I think broadly speaking they feel they need to focus more on the elements they can control, and less on the things they can't, like results. Which is completely ass over t*t

Under Koch the place has become very business and corporate like, I understand the money side of things is paramount.....but at the cost of selling your soul??

For me ultimately it's not about the actual winning, it's about seeing the club and players doing everything they can, all the time, to bring about winning. That winning is numero uno at every level.

I couldn't give a rats about perfect pear, or NTUA or any of that.

But perhaps we're in the minority, and the masses are more geared towards 20/20 style fun.

The place wasn't soulless in 2011. At least in those dark days, we had a coach who actually cared about the club, and a chairman who knew something about what Port Adelaide stood for. I for one thought nothing of going to Football Park on a cold Friday night, and watching us get slaughtered by a rampant Collingwood, because I felt emotionally involved with the club. Now we could be top all year, but that emotional involvement just ain't there, and won't be until the frauds running the club finally leave.

Our boardroom is packed with white-shoed spivs (Tredrea and Snowdon aside), and our social media and gameday experience gurus probably think Twenty20 is the epitome of cutting edge sports entertainment.

Hard to believe it doesn’t feel relatable to anyone over 30.

It might not be good for the players, but he'se rekonses its great for greyhound racing. something to consider.

Even if Andrew Mackie rings with a belated apology a la Billy Madison at this point, I’ll probably still keep him on the list

I was about to have a go and say it feels bad for people under 30 too, then had the cold realisation that I am well and truly into my mid 30's and my joy and love of football/club has waned to the point I didn't cotton on to the fact this admin has wasted my glory years in shit.

I had so much more pride in this club in 2011-12 than I do right now.
At least at the end of 2011 we had a new cult hero in John Butcher to give us some hope.

These days we have a very good squad, but until the muppet in the coaches box finally leaves, it'd take a brave punter to confidently predict that our 17 year grand final drought won't continue.

In 2011 I knew we were just going through a rebuild. Half the footy media wanting to ship us to Tassie was a bit scary but that just seemed to galvanise the base, and we were in the middle of the OneClub merger. Schulz kicking a few bags to ease the pain of Tredders' retirement was great. John Butcher was the future. I loved going to the footy.

In 2024 i've hated my coach and chairman for 7 years. I can't get excited for the season at all despite lots of exciting players and solid list balance. Following the club at the moment is torment, it's a case study in how to smother the heart and soul of a footy club over a decade. It doesn't even compare to 2011.
