He won't be on our list at the end of the year.
You think he doesn't know that?
Would you bust your guts when you're not being given any sort of opportunity at the role he's played so well for 95% of his career before joining Adelaide who's development program must be coming under some serious focus.

Dowling got a lot of it but missed a number of targets

Curtin played well at times but on other occasions got caught with ball and his slip in the last qr was crucial when we had the run of play

Gallagher best game but very raw

No tall forwards with presence. Missed gollant

Dowling can really roost it but his short/medium kicking needs a lot of work, almost consistently misses short kicks.

9 top ups. No chance of a win when there are so many second raters playing
Good thing we just left two list spots unfilled this week then eh?

Looks like two of the ones discussed for our picks (Ryan and Patton) torched us today too.

The arrogance of this club knows no bounds.

I want Curtin to succeed, but I fear the worst. He seems very hesitant and slow, with no drive. His tricks don't seem to work against grown men. I hope this can be fixed, but that won't be easy.

Wasn't he pick 50 or something? Our club thinks that's where we should be drafting our future midfielders.
One of the stupider comments on here.

We obviously didn't draft him as a midfielder since he's spent zero time there. We drafted him as a possible role player as a lockdown defender, which we desperately need. Exactly the kind of thing you hope to find late.

Because he's never going to be an AFL midfielder.

There's limited midfield spots, and the likelihood of someone being taken at the end of the draft being a topline mid is incredibly low - especially without proving themselves in another role first.

We gave him an opportunity and tried to find a role for him where he might have a career.

It was sarcastic. Obviously no top ups should be in key development positions.
Why develop a player to be a midfielder if that's not going to be his role at the top level?

Hell, the vast majority of players who get to the AFL were mids when they were younger. They realise other roles they can play as they mature through their career.

Well we'll never ever get to find out will we, not as long as top up players are preferred in prime SANFL positions that should be taken by developing AFL draftees. Jay Boyle sure as hell will never ever ever ever play AFL, stick him in the back pocket.

I guess the other way we could try that is to draft a small defender and then play them in that role rather than draft a midfielder with the intent of playing them as one.

Also we should occasionally try and draft a small forward rather than a ton of small midfielders and then play them as small forwards.

If you search his name our club refers to him as a midfielder continuously.

Kristof obviously didn't watch the SANFL 1st round game against South where Hugh Bond most definitely spent time in the midfield, hence his 6 clearances, most certainly didn't accrue those 6 clearances playing back pocket.
