In the famous Midnight Oil hit Power and the Passion, Garrett quips that it’s better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.

With Adams, I disagree ! His in and under scrapping and ‘on the knees’ work is why we are winning the hard ball gets.

Peter Garrett you were wrong !

Man is like a bulldozer in there not every possession he gets or dishes is going to be clean but he does a lot of the hard work and preserves Gulden body.
Just feed the ball out to our dynamic trio. That's all he needs to do.

How can you not love him? He wants a premiership badly.

His best game for the club.

I wasn't a fan of bringing him to the club, he definitely has his limitations and I was worried after being kicked out of the mids at the pies his attitude would be that he would roll in and grab a prominent spot in the midfield.

I was very wrong. He is playing his role perfectly, competing hard and chopping out the big dogs in the middle when needed. Says a tonne about his character.

Fantastic addition to the footy club

It really does feel like a combination of Adams and Grundy have unlocked our other mids. He may not get 30 or even 25 touches a week but these sorts of moments are so important
The coaches will be well aware of these and the other "little" things that players are doing that create opportunities. Love these analyses that help us see and appreciate them too.
One that I love is the short handpass that JJ gives Heeney for his long goal. All in a split second and so gentle and perfectly timed as Heeney STEAMS past. So easy to stuff up but he DIDN'T. These sorts of things are making a HUGE difference.
Those two examples are from newbies but it isn't just them. Everyone is stepping up.

Adams did put on a huge block that stopped both his opponent and Isaac's opponent (Jhye Clark and Mark Blicavs i believe) and it led to Isaac kicking that snap in the second against Geelong. It was that good of a block that it looked like Heeney had no direct opponent on him. Its the little things that the normal stats sheet doesn't pick up around the contest that Adams does so well. Around the 2:00 mark in the youtube video below

Parker been there 4 times on each occasion he has been quite frankly poor.
Harsh to judge him on 2012 as sub!

But yeah tend to agree on the others.

I actually gave him a pass in 2022. Towards the back end of that year he'd been playing as more of a defensive mid to actually really good effect. Did a number on De Goey in the prelim final and Viney in the qualifying final. He'd been averaging 23 touches in the month leading up to the GF and got exactly 23 touches in the GF, so he was right on his average form for that period. It's just the Dangerfield match-up was not a good one at all and it meant he was chasing tail all day and didn't get to have any real impact on the game from those 23 touches.

Gotta appreciate those deft touches. Shows a level of confidence in his ability and that he's comfortable performing at the level. A lesser player would tense up in that moment and overcook the handball or have it come out wrong. But the fact that he executed it perfectly shows that he belongs and can perform in pressured situations as he would during training.

Also demonstrates that we're a well oiled machine and he's an important cog in that machine that performs his function consistently and accurately.

Love it

Has that dog in him, two weeks in a row he has gone into the middle and had an impact.

Also if anyone has a photo of him holding 7 fingers to the Crows player that helped draw the free kick, can that be posted here for um reasons.
Nicks dropped Hinge right in it for that free. "Not enough (forget the word he used) beforehand and not much use after the event". Harsh but very true.
