Gold Coast offering two first rounders for Dan Rioli according to Jon Ralph. We would be insane not to take that.
Just watched midweek tackle and Jon Ralph mentioned Rioli to Gold Coast. 2 first round picks, is this made up and Jon just going on the rumours?
Just saw that as well, Gold Coast have picks 8 and 10 but they also have an academy kid this draft so we won't get that surely?

A lot of clubs will be chasing a premiership in 2o25 when we should be showing patience to help us accelarate our development and uplift down the track. I am open to trading out other players end of 2024
Think it’s 10 and 20. He stated the latter was the pick traded on from north which is an early second rounder

one of the first round picks offered by the suns is pick 20, not quite the same as 8 and 10 for example.
If Dan Rioli wants to go, we will do the deal but I don't think he will tbh he just got engaged and MRJ is at the tiges as well and the suns are just pretty irrelevant

Essendon had an earlier pick in the MSD ... same way they drafted Massimo ... but don't fret we are going to have better draft picks for the next decade

don't think you can trade mid season picks, but the Bombers took him knowing that we wanted him as did sydney

10 & 20 for Dan Rioli is bloody tempting. 8 & 10 is even better. They are desperate. Even 10, 20 and a future second rounder. Whatever we can squeeze.
We would be mad not to try and fleece them.

They have 3 first rounders currently - 7, 8 and 20. Ralph reckons they'd give up 7 or 8 plus 20. It'd be a hard deal to pass up to be honest, but I'd be saying 7 and 8 or **** off. Even if we have to sling them a later pick or two this year or next year for their academy points.
It'd be a shame to lose Dan but if we could turn him into pick 7 and 8 we'd be making out like bandits. If we could then snag Lions or Blues first pick we'd end up with something like pick 2, 7, 8, and say 15. That'd be huge. Could also do something like 8 and 22 for Crows (who need more decent youth and points for Welsh) pick 4. Take 2,4,7 and 15 to the draft.
Rioli is 28 next year and hobbles around on that sore ankle from r1 every season. Gotta pull the trigger if we can get two 1st rounders for him.
