Kane Cornes is a bit of a dick isn’t he?
He’s said a few times that if things get worse Ken will know and step away or words to that effect.
Like he at least deserves to call his own time coming to an end.
Truly weird take.

Things get worse than being booed by a mostly empty stadium of your own fans while meekly surrendering by 80 points? In a year we're meant to be contending for a flag? When you've explicitly stated how great the list is?

It means the board don't have to make a hard call, basically let it go to shite and hopefully Ken wants to leave...

Then blame the booing mob.

But my question is why can't it happen and Ken be moved on? Keeping the Coach and giving him a contract extension before finals worked a treat for us last year. Why cant we just say we got it wrong, it was a mistake and move on now? Regardless of whether finals are a possibility.

And I know some people will say as you have "Well clubs don't move on coaches when the finals are still in reach" That may very well be true historically, but historically clubs also don't give a Senior Coach without a GF appearance in his 11th season his fourth contract extension to take him into season 12 &13. These are unique circumstances we have never seen before in Competition history.
I guess if Carr is the man, I'm not sure i want him thrown to the wolves with the bargain basements coaching panel beneath him as the interim coach. Getting time to start fresh next year with a new team of coaches hopefully and time to develop his own plans and strategies is probably a better option.

I'm really torn about it. I 100% want Ken gone and i think it will definitely be his last year but i can understand why they are not making that call just yet.

Has anyone important from the club come out and said anything about Saturday’s game and the last few days.

It's a ****ing bizzaro statement. Is AFL not a professional sport? Even Sheedy was eventually sacked.

It’s been absolutely whacko to see the odd non-aligned journo on Twitter as baffled as we are, and compelled to point out how crackers this situation is.

A media groupthink whereby once again Port fans are condemned as nasty pitchfork-wielding morons who are unjustifiably attacking the owner of the most futile head coaching career in the 130-odd year history of the comp.

The system is absolutely broken.

The reality is if we'd kept Primus at least til the end of 3 years we never would have been stuck with Ken for 12 years. At worst we would have got more high draft picks and had space for an actual serious coach to come in 2014. I would have loved to see Matty grow in to the role, especially given he would have got the boost of AO.

I can - if we lose the next 3 (definitely possible), just imagine the atmosphere at the Richmond game, with the 500 people present all booing Ken whenever his face appears on the screen.
Ken's ugly mug won't appear on the big screen. He'll likely go back to the box to "coach". If he has to walk across the field it will be right across the middle of the ground well out of earshot.
He's a delicate flower when it comes to criticism

They'll never sack him. The club see him at Alex Ferguson levels. He goes out on his own accord.

We’ve been absolutely screwed by the Mandela Effect of ‘how bad things were’ when Ken arrived.

In stark contrast to his predecessors — including Williams who laboured under ridiculous austerity from 2005-onward — he had absolutely everything required to succeed.

But practically everyone is sucking on a false narrative that he singlehandedly built the pyramids with animal dung and scavenged paddlepop sticks.

If Matthew Primus — who wasn’t exactly Pep Guardiola, we know — had access to Darren Burgess, Alan Richardson, and the 2013 squad, how close does he get to Ken’s 12-10 record that year?

You clearly have 0 understanding of what Ken Hinkley brought to our club. You can argue that we need something new now but surely you don't think things would have been better off if we kept everything the same after 2012. He took a team lead by Cassisi and Cornes straight into finals ffs

Stop saying 'our club'. It's very clear you're an opposition supporter alias account.

Didn't our fitness eventually drop to nothing under Darren Burgess? Why doesn't Alan Richardson have a head coach gig? How many premierships does AR have as an assistant? How many does Hinkley have as an assistant?

Why are you still expecting people to respond to you like you aren't just a troll account after you outed yourself in the other thread?

How many used XF Falcons has Matty Primus sold?

Yeah that’s what I thought!

Maybe, maybe not with Matty.

It's a pretty similar situation now with Carr. Ken was a fresh voice and something different that the players clearly reacted to. Had it been Matty with the resources, they could well have reacted the same as they did with Ken, or the same voice might not have gotten the same reaction. Does Carr with resources get a bounce out of this playing group if he gets his way? Or do we need a new direction and voice from an outsider.
