I was thinking actually the info seems tailored to get a rise out of Hawks fans. Dons having a bad week and plenty of Hawks-Dons bigg over the years so maybe them?

Who knows, but it's just really random

I'm curious about the apparent interest from St Kilda though - can't see that one escaping the media if there was any truth to it

Hawks board are similar to us, in that there's posters that you make a note of with 'ITK' stuff, and others that you take with a massive grain of salt.

Their more trusted types have already said Baz is Geelong bound, so the attempt at getting them on side was pitifully shutdown.

Doesn't mean what they're saying is true obviously, but it's what they believe, and it would take more than an account signed up for 20 minutes to change that.

Baz has mates who use BigFooty?

Forget about it. I'm off the bandwagon.

Doubt it - or at least if he has mates posting on here, I doubt they're posting shit like that

The funny thing is that the poster told the Hawks board they were traveling around Europe with Smith, and then on another board they "my source gave me this info"

They couldn't even keep their story straight across a 10 minute span

The problem will only intensify with stuff like this.

Troll accounts targeting naive posters on Bailey Smith's intentions, whether it be for attention, amusement or whatever else is one thing.

Imagine the challenges every Victorian club board will face when Harley Reid is OOC.

It's going to be next level. Likely weekly - if not daily - 'updates'.

Good luck mods!!

Count me as one of those 'naive posters' 😔

I saw the post during a busy moment, fired off a quick response, and based it on nothing else but face value.

I've learned something today.

Your exact quote was:

“If a Premiership team having Shaun grigg as a backup ruck is not proof of that I don’t know what is.”

Seems pretty black and white to me
In reference to hitouts being useless as per the stat that winning hitouts only results in a win 51% of the time. It has one of the lowest win percentages of any stat available

I don’t want to get into a meaningless back and forth here so this will be it from me:

- you stated that Shaun Grigg being a premiership ruckman proved that hitouts are meaningless

- I countered with an observation stating that a sample size of one proves nothing

That is all. Black and white, no grey.

Don’t back out now

Wanted to update you lot. Obviously the strong word is Smith to Geelong is a lock.

I got an update today and have the inside scoop on this all. Geelong links are strong and genuine. Baz is 100% leaving bulldogs.

BUT Baz preference is Hawthorn STILL. At this stage he prefers a move there, the Hawks have pitched to him he will be the main man in the midfield. He also grew up a Hawks fan. Geelong are pushing for him hard still but right now Hawthorn are likelier.

Barrass to the Hawks is 100% not happening, their main targets are Battle and Bazlenka.

This is the polar opposite of what I was told. And obviously what every journalist later heard. I’ll back my source in.

I would rather win 51% of the time compared to 49%. Isn’t there a 1 per center stat that is valued? And you said it was 54% for hit outs to advantage?

51% would indicate basically no correlation between winning the hitout count and winning the match. Nathan Buckley actually spoke about this recently:

Wouldn’t call ya a naive poster

You’re a good, honest poster and look for those same qualities in others

I blame it on being a mod, but you start to become sceptical at times

STPer18 looks like sweet prince has come back from the dead with a fresh new account.

Hey guys,

Pretty new to BigFooty and the Cats board so clearly my word is golden.

I am a self professed ITK and I recently went to a local golf course with this guy.
We had many beers together and he told me his deepest darkest secrets so can confirm for you all that the below is true.

For all future ITK stuff, come directly to me…

I’m confused what you are arguing? I said the stat then gave an example of a triple premiership team who had a midfielder rucking that made a mockery of hitouts.
The point is that many, many other stats are more strongly correlated with winning. Hit outs is basically at the bottom of the list.
Bingo.

If you want an explanation of the exchange, he wanted to get into a pointless back and forth about one detail of your post to try and ridicule you, and is now back tracking to say he did not want to engage in a pointless exchange. He knows what you meant, everyone knows what you meant, but he wants his "gotcha" moment anyway.

Sounds about right. Was not a very intelligent effort at the above either way.

Is Bailey Smith a done deal?
