Also the way he has come on this year, why wouldn't he back himself to keep improving? Imagine he continues on his current trajectory, his contract would offer would keep growing. Back himself in sign another when he's worth more. Same with butters
 
Genuinely think Bergman's ceiling is a Tom Stewart level multiple AA Backman. Would be devastated if he left for a mid range first rounder. The one thing holding him back may be his chronic injuries that mean he is constantly managed on the training track week to week and isn't able to spend as much time developing his craft.

im not trading him, even though it sounds like we have no chance of keeping him beyond 2025

no way we should accept a mid range.. thats what he originally cost and hes way more valuable now..

would have to be a very early first round pick at a minumum or a comparable player swap.
