Of course it’s b/s. We wouldn’t get what he is worth.

BUT, he is a restricted free agent, we have the cap space to match any offer, therefore a trade will have to be reached. LDU isn’t going to a bottom 8 team for $$$. He wants to play finals, he is going to a team that gives him the best opportunity to do that, which will be a Top 10 team, whose draft picks start from 11 onwards, throw in f/s, compensation picks, academy picks it gets pushed back to the teens.

We just have to win 8-10 games, so he signs.

Why would we accept a trade for a pick in the teens for LDU? If that pick is better that what we would get in compensation, then you must be assuming we finish top 8!

If he decides to go, we would get start of first round compensation given the likely $$ and length of contract, which would come after our first pick. If we end up finishing top 4 and the compensation pick is 15-18 then yeah we would probably look at a trade!

Having listened to Clarko talk of the need for us to draft a elite KP and his belief in a spine and how important it is this year I am 100% sure we will be taking what the club regards as a elite KP in this draft.

Heard it multiple times.

Mark my words there is no way we don’t take a KP, I will delete my account if we walk away with FOS and 64 pick.

Let’s say Twomey's nailed this. If we don’t get any worthwhile bites for our f1 in the first 17 picks, would you be prepared to put it on the table to Sydney, GWS or Richmond, if it means we can get two of

• Hotton

(Sydney, GWS and Richmond all have at least two picks between 18-30)
