The bloke is on $800k a year. He needs meals, myki cards and childcare provided?
They obviously aren't wrong about the cost of living crisis...
If you close your eyes and open your mind it is easy to imagine a joyful family of 30+ HOK wives wearing HOK jumpers altogether pushing HOK branded prams containing HOK babies walking around the streets of beautuful Dingley village .... group HOK hug!!

Go on….

Ok ... since you've asked me to elaborate....

I was wondering if it was at all possible, and far be it from me to just blindly assume anything, that the reason mitchell's wife was able to have an influence is because josh is.... ummmmm... somewhat... argghhhh.... of course I'd take anything I say with a grain of salt.... just a wild theory and all that... anyway.... I was wondering if it was at all possible.... that josh just might be a little bit..... what's the word I'm looking for here....... whipped?

Joshy "Yes Dear" Battle?

Does he go to the same places as Darcy "My missus makes me sleep in another room" Moore?

I heard that his partner likes this song.

But she changes some of the lyrics.

I thought you were going to suggest he had some Freudian issues. Likes his MILFs for you bogans out there.

Outstanding work there Doc.

Post of the day IMHO.

Thanks Watto, though this is not one I created, simply one I found on Facebook and thought was hilarious

All the Battle stuff in here is a touch incelly tbh.

He’s “whipped” because he decided that a club willing to give him free childcare and that made his family (wife included) feel important.

Okay.

Also, and I said this at the time, if the hawks lead the “innovation” of free child care other clubs will follow suit, they’ll have to, it’s a benefit that will save players money and be a huge lifestyle benefit. It remains to be seen if that will happen obviously.

You can sit here and sling insults and talk shit about it but imo it’s smart from the hawks, they’ve found a tiny potential advantage (with zero risk) and exploited it, I doubt Josh cares about some people on a footy forum calling him whipped and I doubt the hawks care about some salty oppo supporters.

The cap and tax query is a legitimate one. I’m sure they would have had it signed off but it’s an interesting question.

Not confirmed no but certainly a rumour outside the joke sphere here that maintains.
Yeah, the child care thing was a joke even if true, Battle has wanted to leave for a few years, nearly left before his last contract, never really settled or happy at the Saints by the sounds.
Oh well players leave and players come. The optimistic encouraging thing is the quality of player leaving us now.
Would have preferred to keep him, but made the most out of it.

you need to feel sorry for him, once you take out the 46% tax he is only left with $432k per year. its obviously not enough to live on.

free child care, or anything likely to give a free benefit to a player should be part of their salary and in the softcap

Whilst I get the sentiment this just isn’t an objective way of looking at, it’s still a job. Are you not going to assess the full package in comparison?

I’m not suggesting feel sorry for him but at least try to look at it objectively.

Tend to agree but if it isn’t then the hawks have found a loophole they can use to their advantage.

Not really the point though.
He earns what someone is willing to pay him and should be able to make whatever decision he wants.

That’s his luck.
