At the risk of being about as popular as Andrew Bolt, I think they got it wrong.
Bartel led the match for clangers with 7 and had only 9 contested possessions. Also led in giving away 4 free kicks.
Hawkins had 7 contested marks and 15 contested possessions in total. Both kicked 3 goals...
Jones has barely played, and Grant's improvement has come from getting a run more than anything being a third year player with virtually zero playing time coming into this year. Let's see if Grant steps up next year as a budding KPP or if he gets caught between roles and stagnates like Hill...
The problem is that the second tier players won't step up and assume responsibility, or develop until Johnson is gone. It was the same situation with Harvey at St Kilda. Like Johnson he kept getting uncontested possessions and had no defensive game. Young players would keep out of 'his space'...
Interesting idea. Logic tells you that a number of clubs will be wanting to trade estbalished players to GC17 to get their hands on some good draft picks. At the same time, GC17 will be desperate for established players to make its team remotely competitive. GC17 has more draft picks than you...
Anyone know where to find stats on the number of contested marks by club by season?
I'd like to see how far down the trend is since the late 1970s, although I doubt we have records going back that far.
High school dramas - One Tree Hill, Friday Night Lights, Glee
English comedies - Peep Show, The Mighty Boosh, Extras
American shows - Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested
Development, Chuck, Mad Men, The Office
He was dominant against the bulldogs in Round 3 in a losing side. Ran everywhere in an Ablett like performance. Would have got 3 brownlow votes for sure.
Something is up. He must be carrying the groin injury still or under strict instructions from the coaching and medical staff not to do too...
Tough question I have long pondered. I'm going for Dr Who due to his varied experiences across the universe, although I'm not sure how he would perform in an operating theatre.
To pre-empt a number of you who are bound to ask, I left Doogie Howser MD off the list intentionally despite the fact...
There is no need for an interchange limit.
Instead the AFL should only allow interchanges during a break in play such as after a goal, or when a set shot is being taken, or if there is a break in play for the blood rule or an injury.
This would act as a natural limit on interchange...
My top 7, which I could watch every day are:
Lisa's substitute - Dustin Hoffman plays Lisa's substitute teacher crush and Bart nearly becomes class president
Mr Burns sell the nuclear plant to the Germans - enough said
Simpson and Delilah - Homer's life turns around when he gets miracle...
I would argue that the quality started to fall towards the end of season 4, when Whacking Day came along, signalling less humour, and greater use of celebrities such as Barry White portaying themselves on screen rather than actors such as Kelsey Grammer, Danny De vito and Dustin Hoffman voicing...
If you liked this score, then you must like his score for The Mission. Many of the tracks are nearly identical in composition to The West, but more refined.
What about Death Rides a Horse? Apart from the poor quality/out of sync voices (from dubbing to Italian and then back into English?) the story has a lot of tension in it.
We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Not saying he did no running at all, but he did plenty of walking and standing still, right under my nose on the outer wing, especially in the second quarter. Relative to other quality onballers he was lazy, unless of course he is carrying an injury...
No question the original was miles better. The original was 8/10. This was 3/10. This is one of the worst remakes of recent memory. I would have loved to walk about before the money-back gaurantee halfway point, but I had dragged two friends along with me and had to pretend I liked it.
Worst...
South Park may be on the wane but it was great up to Season 11 at least.
Talking about cartoon past their best before date, how about The Simpsons?
That has been horrible for the last 16 years. Great up to Season 4, it should have been axed midway through Season 5 when it gave up on subtle...
At most centre bounces Masten lined up on the wing. And that's the way he played. He had freedom to roam wherever he wanted. He went back to the defensive 50m to be an option for our def rebounds, and if we turned it over he would try to pick up a loose opponent, but he wasn't following a North...
The UFC has to take some blame for this. Silva is fighting across two divisions and they still give him easy fights like this and Cote.
The Henderson fight was great, and they should have had a rematch.
If there is no other talent at middleweight, the work around it.
They could have...
I was there too behind the interchange on level 1. A few observations, if I may.
The selfishness or stupid decisions is a trait shared by all clubs, even St Kilda and Geelong. Some players feel compelled to give it to veterans at the expense of young players e.g. Shuey or Schofield won't...
I think I've found it.
The Greatest Television Show on Earth (1972) by J.G.Ballard.
It can be found in his collection of short stories Low-Flying Aircraft and Other Stories.
Thanks for that. It isn't the story I am after, but it led me to the internet science fiction database http://www.isfdb.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page
which should help me to find it.
I think it may still be a Ballard story based on the full bibliography I can see at the ISFDB. :thumbsu:
