Where did I say I disagreed with your 8 players...if you listen and read the stuff I do my guess is you're close to the mark...but what my mate tells me who actually plays at lorne unlike you is that these player have been replaced and then some...some names have already been mentioned on this...
Am I ??? thats great...I'd better head down there tonight and tell them coz you said so:confused:...but geez mate if your handing out coaching jobs can I have IB or Colac or maybe if I'm really good I could have South Barwon..and you heard all this at "training" did you..my mate who actually...
Almost right..only 2 Hollmers signed with Lara (Jack was already there and Lewis played falcons last year). Evans definately staying at Lorne. Tully will play at Lorne until Geelong VFL need him and then wont be seen after then if you read how highly Amos rates him. Neither Hollmer or Tully...
Wrong and Wrong...Shiels is assistant coach at Anglesea and Evans is contracted and very happy at Lorne......you need to sack your source mate....:thumbsd:
from what I have been told lee is only a medium size ruckman (about 190cm) and based on this you might think he would struggle against the big GFL rucks. The younger brother is taller and was 1st ruck for the falcons so may be a better proposition. Been told neither are strong overhead.
Given its 2 years away I would think the time would be right for James Hird....from all reports would be an outstanding coach should he want to put his hand up ......
I think you'll find Paul Ellingham coached Moda 2's last year and is not going to Lorne. The guy you're thinking of is Jim Alford who coached Moda 2's in 2008 and I think coached down at Torquay as well. He's the new Lorne senior coach.
Re: Potential Trade Week Action!
True..on most accounts. I'm working on the theory that the Lions will not get any better unless they recruit a quality small forward (something I think they would admit to) and may trade to get the best available. They seem to have enough defenders in Merrett...
Re: Potential Trade Week Action!
With so many small forwards on our list I think we should look to trade with a club that badly needs one...Brisbane.. Stokes for that kid Henderson as a straight swap would do me..
I always thought this was a site where people were encouraged to give THEIR opinions...so if they choose to panic (ffs) let them..if it makes them feel better ..good. No harm done (ffs). All I will say is that IMO to win a flag you need 3 things..(1) a near full list to choose from..(2) a team...
You're right we dont need Hall..so what if neither of out key forwards can kick a goal from 20 metres out...so what if Hawkins doesn't have to body strength to out mark a rover....or give a consistent pack contest when the ball goes in long.....and so what if we dont win another flag for 10...
Ok..my opinion but if we're chasing anyone for next year it should be Barry Hall..our premiership window is closing fast and Hall is still at the top of his game and is exactly what our forward line lacks..a proven goalkicker and hard nut. No point waffling on about poor Tommy, truth is he is...
Truth is the cats were never going to win this one...you take 7 or 8 players from a lower standard competition team that at best is ordinary, (vfl team), whose own individual form has been not much better than average and expect them to beat a potential afl finalist who is a 5 goal better side...
In 2007 when Blake had his big cry the cats responded by getting rid of Steven King. There is talk now that West may also be on his way due to lack of opportunities, which leads me to wonder what if Mumford has the same thoughts, I would think there would be no shortage of takers for big Mummy...
Spot On. Dry day, Blakes stats 2 kicks 1 mark and a handful of link up handballs to add to the flogging he got from Sandilands. West has to be better than that and should be given his chance now. Nothing to say Ottens couldn't play as a forward if Mumford and West were up and going?
MY turn to LOL....if they are not up to GFL standard Grovey wouldn't win a game...check groveys best players to date and I think you will find most of them get a regular mention. You're right Grovey wont make the top 5 but now are now well placed to have a real impact over the next couple of...
Maybe now people who know nothing will lay off Pete Raidme and the TFC players he recruited. Brown is ex AFL and TFC b/f, Murfitt, Wall, Johnson are all BFL rep players, Mackenzie was one of TFC's top 3 juniors and Montgomery and Giglio were senior players as well. Grayling was the clubs No1...
went down and had a look at the head to head battle between Tully and Walker on Saturday. One of them (Walker) likes to tell everyone how good he is and the other (Tully) just shows you how good he is. Walker is flashy no doubt but not big on putting his head over the footy.. Tully still...
Cant mark cant kick cant handball and is just a very average ruckman as well...the only time we looked remotely competitive was when Mumford went in....said it before and will say it again, when Blake had his big sook in 2007 the cats should have sent him packing and kept Kingy...If Blake gets...
If that side represents the best of GDFL you should consider moving the game to Bakers Oval..very old and very slow...BFL would carve that side up. If the GDFL is serious about beating Bellarine then its time to pension of at least half if not all of your 30+ players and throw in some of the...
1. Casey Tully
2. Xavier Meade
3. Clay Brewer
4. Ricky White
5. Khan Beckett
6. Tom McCrickard
7. Dan Casey
8. Alan Alford
9. Steven Salajan
10. Cameron Tate
Apologies to Josh Goonan, Lee Hollmer, Rob Elborough and Adam Wilkinson.
and probably a dozen others. Would think CDFL could...
Some big outs there for IB if true. Also heard a rumour that Coutts, Parsons and gun forward Evans from Anglesea may suit up for the dolphins this year.
Lorne paid a heavy price for a poor 1st quarter with the breeze and the sending off of Clancy didn't help either. IB to big, to strong and to experienced as expected. The best side money could buy. ;)
