Could Buddy spoil the party for Collingwood?

Disagree. Buddy would feel confident in a one-on-one against Tarrant, given his speed and agility surpasses that of Tarrant by a country mile. The problem for Buddy is the rest of Collingwood's first-class backline, which may not give him have enough free space to create scoring opportunities.

Could Buddy spoil the party for Collingwood?

If I were to go back and change it to 'WILL' would it make you happy? It's a thread created for discussions about Buddy's possible, or probably, influence on the game - which could be match-deciding. Quite reasonable IMO.

Could Buddy spoil the party for Collingwood?

You're wrong, that was directly from the playing group and I read it on the Collingwood website. Secondly, we're happy because our team has done more this year than any other team has done in a decade and we've earned back respect from the AFL. And respect goes a long way. Doesn't matter...

Could Buddy spoil the party for Collingwood?

Because any Collingwood player could win it for Collingwood, they're a team full of superstars. And who said it's a party for the Hawks anyway? They're firm underdogs...

Could Buddy spoil the party for Collingwood?

It's interesting that Collingwood said Hawthorn is the team they least wanted to play in the finals....obviously scared of them (especially Buddy!). Buddy will lead the Hawks to an upset for the ages! Go Hawks! :D

Geelong vs West Coast Eagles Prelim

Has about the same relevance as the fact that WC has never lost a prelim final against Geelong :p

Could Buddy spoil the party for Collingwood?

True, but this is a prelim final. It's in big finals where players like Buddy - superstars - thrive.

Geelong vs West Coast Eagles Prelim

No kidding. I was referring to the Geelong players of the 08 GF - they were cocky and did not respect their opposition enough, and that played a significant role in the defeat. Maybe the Hawks were the form team of that finals series but just about everybody, including the Cats players, expected...

Could Buddy spoil the party for Collingwood?

I forget which Geelong player was his opponent in the QF (before the injury), but I remember they had success playing in front of Buddy rather than trying to spoil from behind - he's too quick. Maybe that's a tactic that Collingwood will employ. Having said that, he still kicked 4 goals. would...

Could Buddy spoil the party for Collingwood?

We all know West Coast will flog Geelong on Saturday (:D)... but it seems few have given the Hawks much of a chance against the Pies on Friday night. Collingwood have announced they are wary of Lance Franklin as their biggest hurdle towards consecutive grand final appearances - shut down...

Geelong vs West Coast Eagles Prelim

Embers said the boys pulled up well after beating Carlton, and we will have a full strength team going into the prelim which is good news. I also don't think the last two weeks will impede the Eagles' effort or intensity going into the game as a lot of people are suggesting - they will be...

Geelong vs West Coast Eagles Prelim

Bit like 08 GF eh? Hawks weren't even the slightest threat according to Geelong people were they. It's that kind of arrogance that loses games that should be won.

Preliminary Finals Tips and Crowd Expectations

Interesting point you make there. If it was at SS then I would say almost no chance but given it's at MCG it works in our favour. Coming off the brutal encounter against Carlton last night and less a week's recovery time will most probably be the deciding factors...keep Stevie J quiet and we...

West Coast v Carlton semi final

There's no point looking at games that happened 2 months ago - they have zero relevance. What's relevant is they 22 players that walk out onto the park and which team is better prepared on the day. We had a slog fest against Collingwood on Saturday and the Blues had a breezy win against Essendon...

Essendon Vs Carlton - Have at it here

Umm...the Bombers are a second-rate team up against a much better outfit at home in the Blues. We flogged you at Etihad and pushed the red hot flag favourites all the way yesterday. If you think you'll smash us at home then you're a fool.

Essendon Vs Carlton - Have at it here

Well there is an argument that Hird is too much of a "nice guy", akin to Knights. He was a star on the field and has an excellent football brain but whether that transpires into coaching ability is a different story. Next year will be the better barometer for him..

Essendon Vs Carlton - Have at it here

In just about every WCE thread by just about every Carlton supporter, boasting that Carl are fancies at Subi because they play better at Subi than at Etihad. Carlton are a much better side than Essendon, which shows today. I mean they only just scraped into the 8 after all. WCE at home...

Will any of the top 4 go out in straight sets?

Does Collingwood genuinely believe they can beat Geelong though? Everyone knows they can if they're at their best, but whether they believe they can considering they've been Geelong's bunny this year is debatable..

    Can the Eagles do it?

You forgot "an act of God". Realistically, it's more about seeing how they perform on the big stage than winning. And that's what they should be looking to do - not be overawed and play good, hard footy against the comp's best on their own turf. All those young, talented players with no...

    Finals Results Prediction Thread

So they don't play well at Etihad but do play well at MCG and Subi? That doesn't really make sense given MCG and Subi are very differently shaped grounds. Sounds more like an excuse for losing than a well-reasoned explanation. In any case, even if Carlton do play better at Subi, doesn't mean...
