Its not cheating, it's failing to manage a supplements program that poked its left toe over the edge of borderline.
As Buzz Lightyear once said
"I'm not flying, I'm falling with style"
It's irrelevant.
It's not safe, it's not TGA approved, it's covered under S0, their are no avenues for argument, it's a prohibited substance.
Essendon are ****ed
Maybe the TGA haven't approved its use because of this:
@ProfDocHealth No evidence that regular injections of AOD9604 are safe. relevant safety tests have not been done. Therefore at best it is experimental use.
Will be even funnier watching Essendon suffer significant penalties for bringing the game into disrepute.
I don't care about players being suspended, they will be branded cheats when named and shamed.
Hird's Golden Image tar is he'd forever, unless you're a Bombers supporter blinded by his...
ASADA have an idea as it was documented, supplement type, reason for injection, x number per week, x number per month. It's all in writing, with a Dank signature to finish it off.
So again, why would Jobe need injections of AOD? Does he have cartlidge in his knee? What else needs repairing?
Hey Mxett, explain to me what it repairs again? Then explain to me why Jobe needed it? Every week mind you for x weeks, or x months as the document states.
Actually, pretty sure the document also states why the player needed the injection too. Do you know the reason? Does it tie into the...
So Jobe, can you take this 'supplement' that is going to offer you absolutely nothing, oh and you need to have it injected into your stomach.
No worries Doc.
So what you're saying is the black market version may not be AOD? Is that right?
That would go down well with the AFL, AFLPA, Players, WADA, ASADA etc etc.
Ambiguity?
Proving its an ineffective supplement doesn't get it removed from the S0 catch-all clause.
Maybe the lawyer can conduct clinical trials for the TGA to have it approved for human use first. Then he might have an argument to mount.
Darren Kane doesn't realise ASADA doesn't go to court to hand down recommended guilty punishments. Essendon would need to appeal in a court of law to prove innocence.
Nice explanation of AOD:
http://www.evaluategroup.com/Universal/View.aspx?type=Story&id=419857
"AOD9604 has not been granted approval by Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration or any other government health authority in the world to be marketed as a pharmaceutical product.
However...
It starts at the top. If they're guilty, Hird steps down, simple as that.
If he is unaware, he has failed in his duties as a head coach. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out this entire process was all sorts of wrong, surely his gut wouldn't churned over the risks?
The Judd deal isn't an investigation, it's an Adrian Anderson 'had a thought' moment that will have greater implications on all clubs/players than he planned.
