Preview How do you see the Cats 2024 Finals going?

ok granted there is always hope. But this isn't 2022, we don't have a strong midfield and yeah sure when we can move the ball easily with no opposition we can score heavily but the saints just showed us how a bit of pressure will bring us unstuck and very rapidly. Credit to the club and the...

Preview How do you see the Cats 2024 Finals going?

There's no bigger "if" than that. I give us no hope against Port - even if played in Melbourne but I think we have a better than average shot against Brisbane in Melbourne the week after, I'd rather face them than Bulldogs or Hawthorn. EDIT: just realized we would play Hawthorn or Bulldogs!!! -...

Seriously good post and exactly my take on that result.

Autopsy Cats lose to Demons by 8 points

If I had a comment re this I would suggest Stanley was told to make sure Gawn couldn't take easy field marks, the problem was our defenders kept looking for him and it meant they kicked it straight to Gawn - and Stanley will never outmark Gawn

Oppo Camp Non Geelong football (AFL) discussion 2023, part I

Yeah that should have been 50 paid. Really happy if he never gets another high tackle free again in his career, in fact if the afl want to get serious about concussions then they should penalize those that deliberatelly duck into a tackle

Autopsy Cats lose to Suns by 19 points

Good post - since you were at the game you would see more than we could see on the telecast. It seemed to me there was almost no rebound off half back for most of the day and unlike last year our defenders would chip accross half back rather than move forward at all costs, I am assuming it's...

Autopsy Cats lose to Suns by 19 points

I did lol at that. Actually I think the performance over the last 3 weeks just shows what a perfect year last year was and how well managed the team was to claim the ultimate prize. Geelong has defied gravity for so long but I always sensed it would end with Selwood and Hawkins.

headknock and a pretty hard hit too, I'm surprised he passed the concussion test and frankly it would explain some of his turnovers later in the game - quite uncharactaristic of him.

Autopsy Cats lose to Blues by 8 points.

yes but there were 2 undisciplined acts that gave away 50 metre penalties - I hope somebody has words to him about that.

    Toast Esava

As was I. I actually never thought Sav would make it but only because he was never a one grab mark, most of the time he would need 2-3 grabs to complete a mark so I thought maybe his hands weren't big enough or strong enough and that would be his career Achilles heel. But Friday night I saw a...

Opinion Have We Become THOSE Supporters?

Of course we won it, even if the Tom Hawkins non-goal was called it would still be a point and we still win. I don't understand why anyone would say St Kilda deserved 2009 - they should've kicked straight and didn't, just like we didn't in 2008 but we don't lay claims to the 2008 flag.

Opinion Have We Become THOSE Supporters?

exacty this, I've seen them win 4 grand finals but lose 6. Until that ledger squares or goes in the positive direction then I'll never be smug about it. I envy tigers supporters over their last era, 3 premierships from 3 grand final appearances - that would be heaven. Losing a prelim hurts but...

Certified Legendary Thread Joel Selwood - Premiership Captain and 4 time Premiership Player

I often think of the sliding doors moment when Joel came to the club. If he was taken earlier in the draft as he should've we would not have got his leadership, his skill and his class. The club as a whole would have been so much poorer in so many ways without him, his presence will be felt into...

I was wrong about Chris Scott!

yes I watched that as well, nothing but pure admiration after seeing that interview and his reaction caught on camera post Grand Final when he thought he was alone in a room. Speaks volumes about the mans character.

This kids goal assists - wow!. He doesn't look the type but my god he is probably the best rookie I've ever seen in the hoops - and that's a big call. I've got oppo supporter mates who ask me "where did this guy come from? - we'd love to have him"
