Every team has defenders who aren't supposed to be getting into one on ones and structures up to avoid this.
Max Holmes isn't a great one on one defender, but is used extensively at Half-back as an avenue to launch offense etc.

If JSOS can be that clever, scragging full back who gets away with what he shouldn't that his dad was...
JSOS has always beaten opponents with smarts more often than athleticism, and he is a ferocious competitor.

Me personally, I am quite keen on Matt Carroll getting a second bite at the apple.
Like him, and he's got a year at the club, even if it was only absorbing the game plan stuff.

First time in a while that we have a few real contenders to get a nom.
Usually it's the first guy we picked in the ND and crickets.
I think Moir gets 3-4 early season and gets a nom.
Jagga will probably get one later in the season after his 4th 25+ disposal game. One of those body of work...
If Lemmey has taken his running up a level it will really help his game.
Much more a lead and mark type. If he can work over bigger defenders then he'll be a real headache as he is so tall that smaller guys will struggle to compete aerially

He has always been an absolutely elite distance runner.
Knock was disposal and being particularly light limiting roles he could play

Has all the makings of a "moments" player.
Agree that the VFL showings were pretty underwhelming for most of the season.

Good to hear George is doing well.
People forget how much he's battled through injury, because he rarely misses games.

Would be nice if we could figure out a way to represent different team structures like round ball does.
Probably too hard

Jagga has all the attributes of an early AFL star. Mature and well prepared, great tank, point of difference, proven performance at the second tier.
Hard to see why he wouldn't play straight away.
Only reason would be that they couldn't fit him in the mix, in which case weust be having a...
So the problem is that they are new.
You don't need to use them, or engage with them.
People like to try and describe things they feel aren't being adequately described. This is just how language evolves

It's just as made up as Centre Half Forward and Full Forward.
All categories and labels are theoretical constructs whose value is in creating a mental shortcut.
We used to have ruck rovers and centres, but that stopped describing useful distinctions so we stopped.

Interchange.
I posted a best 23 a little while back.
Jagga will start getting some midfield minutes but also on a wing or flank.
We won't be upsetting the balance by removing our best defensive mid for a first year talent

Disagree.
Starting midfield is Cripps, Walsh, Cerra, Hewett.
Kids need to prove themselves and dislodge the senior boys in pre-season.
On Pixel 7a using BigFooty.com mobile app
If they can take Hewett's place, great, but he isn't going to give it up easy.
Challenge is for the kids to earn it.
In the meantime, we know what we will get out of George

Unsure of the rules and their implementation here, but when I was doing the ins and outs on the list, it was notable how we lost more forwards and gained defenders.
