This weekend, we celebrate a legend of the game, a champion of the club, the Bears greatest ever Full Forward and a mate of ours. Matera92 is playing his 300th game for the Las Vegas Bears, and we couldn't be more proud of him. He is the 2nd Bears player to reach 300 games for the Club after Kane249, who reached that milestone last season.

Matera92 is known as the King of Vegas, because he loves to gamble on and off the field. He has won the Bears Best and Fairest award, which is named after him, the Mateflon medal, twice, in his first two seasons playing in Season 18 and 19. He has also rigged many Best and Fairest awards to make sure Art Vandelay_ has never won. He has also won the Bears best Midfielder award twice, in Seasons 29 and 32.



He has been a loyal and consistent performer for the Bears since he joined us in Season 18, except for the time he changed club for 8 games, but we don't talk about that. He has played the second most amount of games for the club, behind his bash brother kane249. Together, they have formed a formidable duo that has terrorised the opposition for years. Well, mostly Kane249, but Matera92 has been there too.

He is not only a great player, but also a great leader. He co-captained the club with Dingster in Season 22 & 23 and by himself in Season 24, and led us to our only premiership in Season 22. He has also been a mentor and a friend to many of the younger players, who look up to him as a role model. Or at least, they pretend to.

He has achieved many milestones and accolades in time at the Bears. He loves to kick the ball, even when he shouldn't, and he has the most kicks for the Bears with 2593. He always tries to outdo Kane249 in marks, but never succeeds, and is second with 1016. He sometimes passes the ball, when he has no other option, and he leads the handballs for the Bears with 2340. It's a shocker, but Matera92 leads the Bears in tackles with 542. Who would've thought the "King of Vegas" would tackle more opponents than the casino security? He knows how to act when he gets tackled, flopping on the floor like a fish out of water and is second for Free Kicks For with 281. Not so surprisingly for Matera92 who is known as a hothead, he is first for giving away free kicks with 328. He can kick straight, sometimes, and is second for Goals with 259. He can't kick straight, most of the time, and he is first for behinds with 169. He is a fantasy star, with the most Dreamteam points with 18711.

He is a versatile and valuable player who can do it all. He can kick, mark, handball, tackle, score, and even umpire. He is a legend of Qooty and the Bears.

We are lucky to have him on our team, and we hope he plays many more games for us. He is a true Bear, and we love him.

So, let's all get behind Matera92 this weekend, and cheer him on as he plays his 300th game. He deserves it, and so do we for putting up with him for so long.

Well, howdy there, my fantastic Bears! Gather 'round, gather 'round. What a game that was, eh? We managed to snag that win, but let me tell ya, I got a proper scare when those Dragons decided to light up the last quarter with 5 goals. It was like watchin' a magic show, but the rabbits didn't quite disappear as expected!

One day, he tried to pull a rabbit outta his hat. Guess what? Turned out it was just a very large squirrel. The audience was mighty surprised, I'll tell ya that!

But back to the game – it was a corker! Matera's 300th game as a Bear, and what a way to celebrate. I reckon he was more excited than a kid in a candy store.

Now, here's the kicker – this win has secured us a spot in the finals! It's like orderin' one dessert and gettin' two. We'll savor this victory, my Bears, and keep on marchin' forward. There's more qooty magic to be made, more stories to tell, and more surprises awaitin' us.

Well, well, well, my jolly Bears, gather 'round, gather 'round. I've got a tale to spin after our Sunday soirée on the field. Now, I must admit, I'm a man of positivity, but even I couldn't help but chuckle at the twist in the tale.

You see, we waltzed onto the field with a swagger that said, "We're here to party!" By the time 3 quarter time rolled around, the Phoenix looked like they'd seen a ghost – or maybe it was just the ghost of our goal-kicking prowess haunting them. We kicked 23 goals, folks, and it was a spectacle like no other. It was as if the goals were magnetic, and our Qooty was a bunch of iron filings just drawn to 'em.

I told you lads we could hit the local pub for a victory beverage. Thing is, I meant after the game, not during 3 quarter time. Luckily we were so far ahead it didn't matter.

But, my Bears, let's not forget the cherry on top – finishing 2nd on the ladder for the first time in our history! It's like finding out your favorite snack now comes with extra chocolate chips. We've earned it, and it's proof that hard work, belief, and a dash of humour can take you places.

So, here's to our victory dance, the early Sunday pub rendezvous, and making Bears history. We're not just on the ladder; we're climbing it with style. Onward, my Bears, to the finals and beyond!​
