How will you remember him?
as a very limited player that gave everything he had to the jumper and got the most out of himself and gained the respect of team mates and his coaches
i am very pleased to say i am a fan of his efforts

he's a good mark.
he's hard at it.
he never stops running.
never stops trying.
dubious kick.
brings the chaos.
no confidence in front of goal.
great tackler.
helped us win 3 flags.
i love the campaigner.
Fumbles critical forward possessions causing turnover (aka the 12 pt turnaround) therefore,

Elite at destruction of team confidence / momentum. Therefore

Elite as the root cause of breakdown of team structure, therefore

CURRENTLY, No longer a first AFL selection. Needs repair.

HAS BEEN a good and worthy senior role player.

You have used the term “spud.. waste of space..mentally weak.. . This is one of your players !! I rekon if you can’t discuss Richmond players especially life members with out using inflammatory highly derogatory terms then don’t post at all .
Lay off the cabbage or whatever is making you angry . Put the premiership dvds on and reset.

I never called him mentally weak.
Nor a spud either.
But I have called him waste of space and a dud. Also putrid and the worst skilled player in the AFL today.
And stand by my calls - they are applicable to his current situation.
You don't like it, move on, muttonhead.
Just accept others have different opinions than yours instead of trying to tell everyone how they are supposed to feel in regards to a player and rate him.
If you want to be gushing in your praise and over-hype his abilities, do so - just stop everyone else having an opinion.

PS Says the King of being derogatory to his fellow supporters.

No free rides for champs like you. Learn to be respectful. Simple . Plus you are just a liar or you have written so much crap about Castanga that you don’t know what you have written.

Another sensational 10 minutes by Castagna

In his limited game time he managed to close up a total of 1263 sqm of space that he guarded allowing Richmond to get 2 more goals

His work in the team is extremely under rated

LOL yes the most brilliant zero disposal game in tiger history plus a first for Castagna absolutely no clangers. Do a D. Rioli and sign up the champion for another five years before other clubs comes a knocking :drunk:

But you must admit it's been thoroughly entertaining watching a few fumble and trip over themselves - much like Georgey - in their desperate attempts to paint him out as some sort of cross between 'Lethal' Leigh Matthews, Eddie Betts and Brad Johnson, with a dash of KB magic.
They're his own worst enemy.
Elevated him to some Demigod status, only to set him up for a fail against such mile-high expectations. :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Now seems like a good time to make a ludicrous prediction that I can repost in 12 months time if I'm right....

Jason Castagna will have a career best season for Richmond in 2023. He will kick play 20+ AFL games and kick 30 goals.

My logic:
  • He's playing for survival: He knows a year in the VFL is probably the end of his career. He doesn't want to leave and nobody is trying to poach him.
  • He'll get his head right: he'll use the off season and pre season to work with the Emma Murray to remember that he is a 3x premiership player at age 26.
  • He'll work on his skills: he'll focus on the basics. Front and centre crumbing, tackling, gut running and snapping goals on his preferred foot.
  • He'll be the fittest guy at the club: I bet he's already back at work. He will come back as hard as a rock and ultra fit.

I believe. Now.....

If he can have a career year, we'll likely win the Twos flag as should be further back in the pecking order than ever before.
A pity e exhausted his trade value these last two years; could have been an extra to go to GWS.

Why is he further back in the pecking order? He's only really competing with MRJ.

If all that was to Happen

George gets a 5 year deal & atleast 3 posters on bigfooty are jumping off the Bolte
The lol's would be priceless around these parts

MRJ pretty much a lock now.
Ditto for Sonsie and Cumberland.
Martin will come into the team and play a lot more forward and Bolton will spend his share of time down there.
Expect young Clarke to go past him quick.
I feel, after this year, doing what he did with Castagna and Edwards, Hardwick will have wisened up and won't be picking blokes on past glories or accolades.
