I have been a critic of his disposal and decision making all year & even in the first quarter tonight but where credit is due , he was brilliant .

He's not a flank, he's not a wingman. He's an absolute workhorse who needs to be at the coalface, 1st rotation

All that needs to be said really. He has a few momentum slaughtering moments every week and there were a few more today where you just shake your head and wonder what's going through his mind. But there's no doubting he and LDU dragged us across the line today. The kick to Zurhaar in the first half was up there with JHF's inboard missile in the last. Wouldn't surprise me if he really wanted to play well for Noble

An absolute beast of a game. Played with a lot more freedom and just steamrolled blokes.
I wonder if he was taking on too much leadership wise and that was affecting his performance? Don't underestimate how hard being a good leader in our team this year would be.

Can he re model his game the same way Cripps and Walsh have.
They had terrible disposal and yet Voss has found a way to maximize their output.
Jy needs to stop using it by foot and start to dish off otherwise he just can’t be sustained in an AFL midfield at this rate.
He was handball happy at times in the 1st qtr and we looked great as a result

Having LDU come in and win a lot of contested footy has freed Jy up to do the same

Felt like he was using his step a lot more last night and taking players on.
Feels like if he has the confidence to gather the ball and use that step to create space, rather than rush kicks, then he will go a long way to becoming the player we thought he’d be.
It was the Jy of old, 2019/20 where he looked a Rolls Royce, top 20 mid.

He took the game on yesterday and was working himself into space instead of just hacking it forward.

You would have thought Patch just told him to go out there and enjoy his footy and take the game on.

That performance was night and day in regards to the way he has played all year.

9 horrible turnovers and going at 59% disposal efficiency. But In saying that, most of his disposals is under immense pressure and in and around the contest.

Played like a true captain
