You can see it in his petulance on field. I wouldn’t be surprised if he “played” up his concussion symptoms too. “yeh, see how yas go without me” ..

🤦‍♂️.

You just invent reasons in your head to dislike him.

If memory serves me well, you hold a pretty niche view that concussions are not a real medical issue.

I think its overblown. I definitely believe its a serious issue for those who have suffered SIGNIFICANT head trauma. I dont put Jy in that category.

I put it in the “everyone must change everything they’re doing because of silicosis” its overreaching and an overreaction.

I'd like Jy to move to the wing and be solo Captain this year. We have enough other options inside and could use his running power better. I also have never liked captains playing as inside mids, it is the worst position to understand how a game is unfolding. It's like trying to work out the shape of a galaxy from inside it. Wing is a better position to see what is happening in a game and reorganise the team accordingly. This worked for Joel Selwood.

In what world did Selwood play as a wing?

He was always primarily inside right through to his retirement.

He played wing in his last year, when they won the flag.

He was only behind Guthrie and Dangerfield for average CBA’s in 2022. He was still very much an inside mid.

He was well down on cbas compared to previous years. They took him out of that primary inside mid role and he became a better captain.

Still was attending over 50%. He was still very much an inside mid with a bit more flexibility to play on a wing.

Jy was at his best for us this year when he went back into the midfield. He certainly helped with how the midfield group structured up even if Jy can be somewhat flawed in some of his defensive efforts.

He was. But we are going to have a logjam in the middle, a couple will need other roles. Jy, seems like one who could play more outside, and I think it would help his captaincy.

I agree with you in the sense we need some more flexibility but I’d say that applies to our midfield group as a whole excluding Sheez and Parker.

I don’t think his position is going to help him be a better captain. Having more vocal leaders supporting him on field will have a far greater impact for whoever is captain next year.
