Man has been carrying our midfield and getting absolutely crucified in here after four games due to poor disposal.
At least he puts his head in the hole and gets the pill.

Give the man some time, trust me.

He's been good. However, I said at the time of the trade that 2 first round picks for him was an overpay. 1 first round pick was enough.

Good, consistent tough player that keeps running both ways. Happy to have him here.

Not worth 2 firsts though. That should be reserved for game changing mids.

Mature mids as good as Taranto virtually never change hands for just one of the first round picks we had to offer.

Outside the realm of a player's theoretical worth, you have to either pay market value or simply miss out. It's not like both GWS boys didn't have plenty of other clubs falling over themselves to get their signature - quite probably offering better terms in some cases.

Astute judges would possibly rate this one his best game , handballs more , improved eff to 63 , respectable in the wet but much more importantly he had 10 SCORE involves prev <5 in all other games , hopper had 9 also
Not to mention he went at a respectable 66% De and 36 pressure acts

Some people just look but not see

3/4 games he’s played in have been wet games of footy.

He certainly isn’t elite by foot. But his efficiency % is not something you would be hanging your hat on as a stat.

He a contested bull of a mid. Kicking isn’t exactly what he was brought to this club to be elite at. Eg: Ollie wines, Jack viney, Cripps, touk Miller, Dunkley.

The problem with tigers right now is that we lack the type of mid that the bull opens the game up for.

His first quarter yesterday was very quiet but was a big reason why we kicked into gear in the 2nd quarter.

Was also sent to Libba to combat his effect at stoppages after quarter time.

The player who we expect a high output that I am extremely concerned about is Shai Bolton.

Another solid game. He needs more support from our other mids , there is a reason he is our leading disposal getter so far, works his backside off .

He's game wasn't elite yesterday but it wasn't horrible, he did some things forward of centre, the dish off to Bolton for a goal and kicked a goal at a crucial point that's why I prefer him more in the half-forward line rather than a full-time mid because he makes less mistakes down there and if he does turn it over or hack it it's not as bad, if you do it in the middle of the ground it can be punished a lot more.

His leg speed is also not good enough imo to be a full-time mid, despite being an endurance king, that's where the hardworking half-forward Lambert role would suit him better he should embrace it for the better of the team. he can still go inside but a lot less imo than he has been atm.

Will time correct his biggest flaw which is his kicking?

He does everything else well, just can't kick the footy. I'm not sure another week, month or year is going to improve that, he's already in his mid 20s, why would he suddenly learn how to kick now?

I like all his good attributes, but he's pretty poor with the footy by foot. Needs to go the Tom Mitchell route and just handball off to better users.

I think Prestia's kicking has improved under our system.
It can improve but he will never be a Dustin Martin.

Prestia can't kick but we deal with it.
It feels like people want to take the first opportunity to jump on Taranto because of his price tag but I'd argue he'd be leading our BnF as it stands.

Prestia isn't a damaging kick, but he doesn't do as many poor kicks as TT does. I don't want to sink the boots in, he does a lot well, but his flaw is a pretty big one in the modern game, the only way I see around it is if he kicks less, or he kicks long to contests, he's not the guy to pick out free targets or hit up leading players.

And what is his price tag ?
Picks #14 + #21 which is hardly elite range for picks but more speculative these 2 picks wouldnt have got us a top 10 pick in the draft

Carlton coughed up pick #7+ for Adam Cerra
