This guy has smashed it this preseason. Couldn't have asked for a better build up. My greatest interest is to see how the club plays him. Is he going to be in the guts the whole game or taking the Lambert role, similar to what he played at GWS? Just oozes class.
I thought that he is going to play true mid.

GWS recruited so many of these with top 10 picks that TT was pushed out. Not because he wasn't good enough, but because he was more versatile than their other inside mids. In some ways TT's wider range of talents worked against him.

Stupid recruiting by GWS. They continued picking the best mids, who are the typical top picks. Until they had way too many of the same type. Meant their list was unbalanced and they overpaid for the first group of mids to come through. So some of them, TT and Hops, got moved on. They needed more Lambert, MRJ and Short types. But those players go later in the draft, so GWS built a strange list that cost too much and wasn't built to win premierships. We got lucky / traded brilliantly.

Giants got loads of top draft picks who turn into very good players. But have to overpay to retain them. The exodus all seem to attract very high picks as compo. J. Cameron at Geelong. TT for RFC.
Giants used first rounders on KPD Aleer too. Low pick on Idun in defence is OK player.
See how they go with new coach.

True.

I think they have learnt their lesson. Build a team with 8 top end (i.e. expensive) inside mids and fit them into your team .... = clumsy ball getting centric team that lacks balance and the ability to afford the role players you need.

They can now rebuild a balanced squad whilst having an experienced core of good players. Lets see how they go with a new coach and new approach.

Like him but hopefully he gets back to being a one grab player, too many fumbles last night that then made him rush the disposal. Overall very good start and could have kicked 3 goals too.

Hopper well he is another story for another thread, reckon we could have left him at GWS.
