No, we are not surprised by by the crowd.

Just tired of the BS parroted about how Victoriand turn out for cricket ad nauseam.
Nobody says they turn out for all cricket. All Victorians say we don't turn out for ODI cricket (except for India/England). Australia in general don't turn up for ODI cricket.

I guarantee in Australia right now, an International T20 cricket would be more popular than an ODI 50 over game involving Australia.

The last bilateral series I have watched involving West Indies and England in the Caribbean on Kayo suggested to me that it was mostly full houses over there. I watched a snippet of India v Afghanistan recently too in a bilaterial series, and Indian crowds can pull in decent numbers even for an opposition of the calibre of Afghanistan.
FWIW, the average crowd for the last 30 ODIs involving Australia in Australia* is 20,399.

The average crowd for the last 30 T20Is involving Australia in Australia (excluding the T20WC) is 20,053.

If you do only the major cricket grounds (so excluding Carrara, Geelong, Canberra, Cairns and Townsville) it's 24,446 for T20Is and 25,833 for ODIs.

Not much difference, if you ask me.

*Actually the last 29 ODIs, as I took out the one vs NZ behind closed doors just when COVID hit.

I don't like Short down the order, should be opening.. if your going to give someone a opportunity, give them one.. not half a one.. probably won't even bat.
