Did the Pies get that done in a league of 18 teams where a great proportion of the draft concessions and AFL funding is balanced towards the newer expansion sides? No....didn't think so..
Back then we were the expansion side with no concessions at all

No mate but you can only play and beat the teams before you under the rules at the time but don't let that get in the way of a good story
Sorry, but if you think collingwood's achievement in the 20's warrants discussion in terms of it's performance alongside any achievement in this era, you are a very silly person indeed.

Collingwood had no salary cap, 10-12 teams. Everything to allow them to dominate in the kick to kick realm they played in, and granted they could only beat those they played against, but hey, some five year old's down the road won their little grand final against other five year olds, they were so happy. They must be as good as collingwood in the 20's.

Well Ceglar won't be getting a game anymore.

Schoenmakers out for Gunston but only if he's fit. No bloody risks.

Langford in for Hartung, will need the extra inside grunt against the Dockers.

In: Intensity and mindset

I could honestly tell 1 minute into the game last night, that we were switched on and that we would win. When we bring the right intensity and attack on the ball like we did last night (and against Sydney & Freo this season), we are very, very tough to beat.

We are again traveling to a foreign place, that hasn't particularly been a happy hunting ground for us. The coaches and players need to figure out a way, to make sure we are mentally prepared for this game. This game will be won or lost above the shoulders.

Again I think we will be able to tell in the first 5 minutes if we are switched on or not. If we are, I am very confident that we will win.

Is that also the one where pies lost the GF (as per usual) and got to re-challenge the team? Yeh heaps the same and better than Hawthorns achievements :drunk:

Wikipedia:

"Collingwood met Geelong in the Final, and, as minor premiers, they had a right to another game if defeated. They were required to exercise this right after Geelong won by 26 points."

Bwaaahahaha I never even knew this... all these years I thought Collingwood had racked up its flags in an under-competitive local proto-league while Hawthorn came in late and got the business done in the modern age.

But no... Collingwood's history is even sillier.

lol yes that was the fourth one.
You might not have to worry anyway still a long way to go until you have three in a row.

Pretty touchy lot after progressing to a prelim..

Good luck anyway I'll see myself out.
Nah man, you didn't come across as 'baiting' at all. I think some of us are still high on emotion so just take it with grain of salt champ.

Who does Lake play on? He doesn't seem to have a matchup but was vital against them in the 2013 GF.

I'm also worried Ross Lyin' will bring back Crowley to stitch up Mitchell, Steven Baker style. Its just the sort of thing Ross Lyon would have no qualms about stooping to.
The resting Ruck.

Sandilands or Clarke

Wouldn't that be great, I still have VHS of 1990 the only DVD is of 2010 wasn't alive for any others.
Hopefully in a few years we will get to see another.

Must be great getting to watch a dynasty!

champ…the last collingwood back to back was 1935 1936….your club has won 4 flags in the last 79 years…we are vying for 4 in the last 8 years ….collingwood were great in the 20s and 30's, melbourne was smaller than adelaide back then and it was a local comp….

Hey if you have any dvd box sets of your 27-30 let me know... Lol.

I agree they would be on par with Brisbane as our 08 flag was a very different team.

KOLOKOTRONIS

we will surpass the lions team if we win this year….08 still forms part of the same era, same coach and a core of players….08 team is the premature ejaculation…rough hodge lewis mitchell birchall rioli ……..+ guerra Bud and sewell where there in 2012 gf loss and 2013 1st flag,,,6 players + 3 part players in the last 3 mentioned and the same coach, the backbone was there in 08 with only dew williams croad bateman crawford and perhaps young the contributors of note that aren't in the current 2011 to current period
