Out 23 times since his last century with 5 fifties and 4 single digit scores in that. Long way to go, but if Australia lose this series and Uzzie maintains an average of 32, as the oldest bloke in the team he'll be finished.

Not taking Ussie to Sri Lanka would be a huge mistake. Who else in our lineup, or in domestic cricket, could you trust in those conditions?

Especially if we recover in this series and are still in the hunt for the WTC, there's unfortunately no one better than Khawaja.

He’s coming off 2-14 off 11 in the first innings, both wickets being the openers. He literally could barely have done more to set up this match for Australia in the first place and then top scored.

Just looking at Head's past 17 Test innings, only 1 score over 50, that was 119 v West Indies last summer, and yet leading up to this series he only played 1 Sheffield Shield match. With all this "management" of players, I don't think CA has the slightest clue what they're doing.
