Just seen the highlights, the Rogers one looked like it was going down leg side?

If the umpire hadn't given it out initially, that's exactly what the ball would have done. The review showed it clipping leg stump, but by the faintest of margins. It was fair to review it.

I think we're in an alright position. We needed to bowl them out cheap, bat once, then bowl them out again when this pitch has fallen completely apart. We got the first part done and then had our traditional top order collapse. The positive for me was that batsmen got themselves out, with the exception of Clarke, so we can at least improve there. We gave up a massive advantage, we need another 450 runs from our remaining six wickets.

Agar selection is now looking good more so for his batting than anything. Will come in handy, he's a better bat than Pattinson, Siddle and Starc, even though they might bat ahead of him, despite his limited FC matches, he's on Faulkner's level with the willow, I think it's part of the reason he was picked.

Yeah it did, but didn't it hit him on the full ? pretty sure soon as it does they assume its going straight on . really stiff !!

No, it was a fullish ball but not a full toss, Rogers reviewed it and it was found to be just nicking the leg stump, but because the umpire (Dharmesena) had given it out, it remained umpires call. He was very stiff.

He challenged it and the replay showed it was just clipping leg stump. Very unlucky, but taking an off stump guard did not help his cause.

An intense day's test cricket. Very good bowling from Siddle, but not sure that is was 5 for 50 good. Some very poor shot selection from the English batsmen. A massive first session coming up tomorrow. Smith looked very good, so England will be looking to get rid of him quickly.

Highlight of the first day was Anderson's ball to Clarke. A genuine ripper.

Broad's injury may be a deciding factor in the test.

He came to the rescue of WA at least twice in the latest season, batting forever for time or massive totals required to win. He knows how to bat under pressure.

How did Agar bowl? I only saw a few of his overs.

Was a bit short and a bit leg side.

He certainly gets good bounce though, really jumps off the pitch at times, and got decent enough turn.

Needs to hit the right area's consistently.

Agar bowled nervously. Some shocking deliveries and a couple of good ones.

I did not see anything to make me think it was a good decision to pick him. Lyon very stiff.

As I said, the kid is likely to finish his career with a batting average in the mid to high 30's in FC cricket. He's a genuine bowling all-rounder. Considering our brittle top order, to have another decent bat after Haddin is invaluable imo.

We're screwed in this match if the pitch is falling apart and we're going to have to chase down a score with Swann bowling. Losing that toss was bad.

This game will be over by the end of day 4. Won't be a chance for the pitch to fall apart.

Our tail is good enough to get us to 200. Just hope for a sunny day and Smith, Hughes and Haddin to make good runs.

That's it, I'm confident we can get 140 out of Smith, Hughes and Haddin. There's certainly enough in the tail to give us a lead. People have short memories. Starcs 99 on a bunsen was certainly in worse conditions than this....

If Smith can go on and make a big score, well it certainly shifts the game our way.....

Huge first session tomorrow, series defining really.

Hope Cricket Australia have learnt their lesson and pulled their head in. We can't afford to have Warner in the stands (or worse yet, in South Africa) when there is a collapse like this one.
You're joking yeah?
He's very much a part of the problem- not the solution.
