I've been out this morning once Siddle was in. Can't believe it to get home and find out the score. I'm damn pleased with the fight shown in this match. Our tail enders have got some push in them.

We never seem to get the close ones though.:(

It was a clear edge.. bat was nowhere near the pad, not understanding the controversy.

It wasn't 'clearly' an edge, but it was probably an edge. I'll tell you what was clearly an edge - the entire forest Broad got on Agar. And in the end that was the difference between the teams and then some.

All class England.

Gotta love their celebrations. They know they stole that one yet they're going on as if they've conquered Everest. Bunch of sillies the lot of them.

On all the given evidence, it appears that the correct decision was made but geez, the umpiring in this test has been appalling. None of the trio involved should be getting another gig in this series. Dar in particular is a joke. Ah well, screw it.

All things said, we also didn't do ourselves any favours in the first innings. When our 10th wicket partnership was our best in the first innings and second best in the second innings, it's somewhat suggests that we shouldn't be in the situation to win to begin with yet we were which is one positive to take away from this match overall.

For the 2nd test, less of these ridiculous DRS calls going against us and the top order actually doing something meaningful with the bat and we'll roll them.

There definitely was a noise there but the mark was already there before the ball passed the bat so how the f is that conclusive?

I am with India either fix this disgraceful DRS or get rid of it altogether.

There was no conclusive evidence to overrule the on field. If it was given out by the on field umpire then it would have been ok. But sound alone is not enough to overturn the on field call. The sound can come from anywhere.

The living legend that is Brett Lee offers a congratulations to England on Piers Morgan's twitter and Morgan the twat responds sarcastically with "want a hug?"

You are extremely unfunny Morgan and I'm glad you're not on Australian TV

I thought it was initially out too BUT..

Umpire did not, and I feel the replay was inconclusive, not bat-pad but hot spot seems to show up before it passes the bat. Probably 90% out but not certain

DOUBT = NOT OUT!

Shit way to end a great test

Pretty happy with the performance in the end, at least we've shown we're competitive and have some fight. Great test match even though the result didn't go our way.

It's rather naive to think the BCCI have a genuine dislike of technology or DRS - they just picked the review system as an issue to stick two fingers up to the rest of cricket and progress.

I know you lost but really well done to Australia. The fighting spirit was magnificent.

England celebrating as if they've won 10 Ashes series in a row.

Still to paraphrase a now retired football manager: Test cricket, bloody hell.

My theory is that he hit the buckle of his pad creating the noise and the Hot Spot, but that's good enough for the poms
with the bat that was about a foot away from his pad?

clearly out. this thread is embarassing. the broad one was a disgrace but if we don't waste the referral then it's not an issue. agar 50/50 third umpire call went our way, this one didn't. "lets come home, that'll show the cheats" ffs that's illiterate third world indian stuff right there

You know Erasmus allowed Agar to go on to get his 98 when, if rolls were reversed, we would've been up in arms about the stumping being given not out. The parochialism ITT is hilarious to read, albeit not surprising.

DRS is just confusing really. Especially the LBW calls when they say not enough of the ball is hitting the stumps. If the technology is good enough/trusted enough on accuracy to be used surely any ball that is show to be hitting the stumps, no matter how much is out.
